I think everyone should recognise their happ-(E) birthday. Today is my 6th Happ-(E) birthday. By that I mean I've got through 6 years of coping with my epilepsy, and I think that's as good a reason as any to celebrate. I'm not seizure free, I may never be, but I've accepted that epilepsy will always be sharing my life journey with me. I won't let it take over my life, and I won't be defined as 'an epileptic', rather I am a well-rounded person who happens to also have epilepsy. SO.....I'm putting out the banner for getting to the 6 year mark without going (totally lol) insane.:woot:

WOW, Loudmouth!!

I REALLY, REALLY like your idea!!! That's an AWESOME idea!!!

Now, I don't know when my E-Birthday would be........I was born with it... and I'm only 21, you know. *coughing hard*

If your 21, I'm not born yet!!!

Well this would be my 1 month happ(e) birthday of officially diagnosed. so...yay? lol I accept I have it, but I think I am still fully realizing the stigma attached. THat I wont accept.

Great thought LM - make a positive out of the challenge. We can't change the fact that E has found us, but we sure can choose how we will react to that. Sort of like the quote "Life is 10% what happens to us and 90% how we react". You are choosing a good way to react.:clap:

Me, I hit 28 years last summer. I don't need my accounting skills to tell you that is longer than Rae has been around.:paperbag:

Just passed the ten year mark myself. I don't think E has made me crazy, though I should probably ask the other voices in my head for their opinion too.

Seriously, I think it's important to celebrate milestones with epilepsy. Sometimes just getting through a day without thinking about epilepsy is a milestone...

:roflmao: to Meetz.....But yes, it's all about outlook. While I still have days where it really drags me down, we all do, I've finally accepted that epilepsy will follow me through life, I can choose to expend all my energy on hating the seizures, or put 99% of my energy into living my life, and just letting the bad 1% of it out to play once in a while. Sooo....to anyone else celebrating a Happ-(E) Birthday....:woot::clap:
