I saw my daffodil buds popping out of the ground. Soon the neighborhood will be filled with them. I’m looking forward to kayaking this year. Enjoy the colorful show the season is bringing.
Happy Spring CWE 😊

I've been enjoying some awesome weather in the last week or so. My gardens are waking up, but the weeds woke up first. :paperbag:

Flowers are coming up here too, it's so nice to see them!

The weather needs to figure out what it wants to do though. I could have had shorts on at the beginning of the week and there was snow on the ground today!

We have frost here this morning (Sunday) and some snow coming in. I wanted to get going and plant my
crown vetch but I'm going to have to wait a little. Take my word that stuff is great for steep hills and areas
where it's hard to mow it spreads like crazy and you have flowers all over the place from spring until Nov.
Wishing all of you only the best and May God Bless You!

Sue

I've become SO TIRED of this "roller coaster" weather we're having in Chicago area!! I plan to get my vegetable seeds started indoors this week. I avoid planting seeds directly outside since animals get at them. I'm growing tomatoes, okra, zucchini, & hot peppers
I use 1 or 2 large foil pans--the type you'd bake with. Then I cut toilet paper tubes into thirds or quarters, arrange them in the pans, & add soil. After that, I add the seeds to them. I cut a cardboard box to separate/divide & label the rows of vegetables.

Weather is gorgeous here, but the pollen is out of control. Allergies going crazy!

Yesterday the weather was BEAUTIFUL during the day--it was nearly 80 degrees! Overnight/Early in the morning, we had some strong showers & thunderstorms, then it cleared up. I went to the backyard & pulled up all the dead plants from last year's vegetables. I also cut down the dead mint plants so new growth isn't tangled in it. I like to do these things the day after it rains because the soil is soft, making it very easy to pull the dead plants, roots and all, out of the soil. Maybe I'll go out later today & do some pruning on our rose bushes.
