I was diagnosed with epilepsy after a tonic clonic in September 2013, and I haven't had a tonic clonic since, and I've been completely seizure/aura free for over six months on my current dosage of 2500 MG of Keppra. I've never brought this up to my doctor, but once I got up past 1000 MG I believe, I've been having falling senastions, especially after getting off an elevator.

I know it's not a kind of seizure, because while it does happen randomly, it mostly happens and is most severe when I'm getting off an elevator, which is too consistantl to be a seizure. I assume it's some kind of anxietity. When it happens on random, I feel like the floor drops a few inches. If something is near me I might grab it for balance, but I never ever fell from this. When I get off an elevator after going up, I almsot always get a feeling that the floor is sinking for about a minute.

I'm wondering if anyone on Keppra has ever experience this as well. While its not a major concern, I would be curious if this is some kind of anxiety (which is a side effect of the medicine), or some kind of vertigo that just happened to start around the same time.

Maybe current dosage is failing?

I was on the same dosage for ~2 years and then the drug failed

It's something I never had before the medication, and it's followed me with all the dosages. As I also said, it consistently happens when getting off an elevator, and a seizure is random. That's why I'm pretty much ruling out the possibility of a seizure

hey. I'm new to the forum, so I hope I can give you a little insight to this. I'm not sure at all if it's related to what I'm going to talk about, but I do have falling sensations frequently as well, although I'm not on any medications.

I have tubes in my ears, and if the "ear wax" blocks these tubes I notice that I have a recurrent theme of falling - elevators - laying down in bed - bath tub etc. It's a sign of vertigo - which is an imbalance or improper pressure inside your ear canal.

Maybe the Keppra is causing vertigo?

Mousey hits on a good point. It sounds like a simple case of dizziness. Every once in a while, not often, I will get very dizzy when in bed or when closing my eyes in a car.

Keppra will do that especially if you are on a high dosage or drink. If I go out drinking, I know I won't be able to lay down in bed for a while.

Doesn't sound like anxiety, just vertigo. Very common with Keppra. (I'm on 4000 mg/day)
