Has anyone switched from Tegretol to Vimpat?

Well, I was on Keppra and Carbatrol (another form of Tegretol) but I was taken off the Carbatrol, kept on the Keppra, and then we added the Vimpat. I was on that for 3 weeks, but it wasnt a good experience for me. Lots of mood swings, depression, as I went up in my dose, it got worse, so they took me off of it. But I hear for others, they do very well with Vimpat.

That doesn't sound fun. Did the Vimpat control your seizures at least? I wish people who didn't have Epilepsy had the slightest clue about the side effects of the drugs we take.

At the I was put on the Vimpat, I was only on the Keppra XR for 14 days. So my level wasnt back up where it should have been. I recall having some auras, and then what my mom said, I had a complex partial seizure about 4 days after starting it. So I dont know if that was due to the Vimpat, or like I said, just cause my levels were not where they should have been. All I know is that the Vimpat made me a terriable person. not the person I wanted to be. I was just glad to get off of that medication.
