I have tried searching the forums and seen info on Botox on here but my question is: Has anyone with E tried Botox for Migraine treatment?

My headache specialist has been bugging me for months to try Botox for my chronic migraine issues since we have not been able to find a medicine combination to work in treating them. My insurance has approved the treatment and I am scheduled to get my first set of injections on Friday and I am not very comfortable in having a paralyzing agent injected into my face and neck.

Any input would be appreciated especially if you have been through these injections as well.

Thanks, Shawn

I have migraines too and I would do it... as a matter of fact, I will look into getting this done myself!

I was offered Botox not that long ago but I declined, for me there was no real benefits I could see and a greater risk of interfering with my medication plus the cost.

The only reason I decided to give it a shot is since I have maxed out my out-of-pocket deductible for my health insurance so it won't cost me any extra. I was also told that it will not interfere with my current meds. Hopefully it works for me and doesn't make things worse!

Botox... 31 injections of burning hell through a 30 gauge 1/2" long needle! Didn't feel the needle just the Botox burning my head into partial paralyzation. Good news is my headache is hardly noticable after the first six hours, hopefully it stays that way now!

Wow! Good luck, I hope the benefits persist.

Thought I would give an update on my migraines. They are mostly gone! Actually I have only had headaches after my partial seizures, but the intensity isn't as bad and they don't seem to last as long either! As a matter of fact at this point I would actually recommend them if your insurance will cover it. I am on week five and it is supposed to last around three months and I was told that the headaches usually start getting worse again around week eight, but it is only allowed to be given once every three months due to its paraysis effects.

Hope things get better rather than worse as the weeks go by. Let us know...
