What's it like to have an aura?

I know when I have a seizure the only way that I know that I've had one is when someone tells me that I've had it when I come out of it. I don't think that I have any warning.

Can someone describe what an aura is so that I know if I feel I might be having one I know that I might be having a seizure coming on?

Hi V - hope u r well - I always get an aura no matter wot type of Sz I'm having- If you think of a helicopter on the ground with it's rotars turning, I hear a sound like that - I consider it my personal early warning system

I have a weird sensation that is hard to describe. It's kind of like an electrical feeling in my body, plus a deep sense of forboding. It can last 2 minutes, or a whole day. Most of the time it comes before a seizure, but sometimes not.

i get what ur saying valariedl but everyone has their own aura and sometimes, because your seizure starts in a specific part of the brain, you may not be able to get an aura. my auras change every time. i have seen rainbows, heard ringing, heard banging, had deja vu, had pressure in the back of my head and lightness in the front, but unless your seizure starts in the part of the brain that the aura comes from, you may not get one. auras can even be a change in emotion so be aware, they can be rly subtle, you might get them.
