Hello all from Houston, Texas!

My name is Chris and I just wanted to introduce myself to the site!

I have been dealing with epilepsy for almost a year now and have been through several treatment options with hardly any success. I average between 0-2 seizures per month.

I am currently at work so I will update more later but I just wanted to say hi to everybody!

Hi, Chris!

Welcome to the forum!

I know it is hard to be patient. I went through 5 drugs before I found the right one for me - the right mix of effectiveness and tolerable side effects. It took almost 2 years.

Even so, about 30% of people who have epilepsy have intractable (uncontrolled) epilepsy.

Have hope. New treatments are being developed all the time, like trigeminal nerve stimulation, which in research studies has reduced seizures in people with intractable epilepsy by 60%. And it's non-invasive - it's on the outside of the body so no surgery.
