I'm new here, and I have a case of E of my very own, for keeps. Sorry, I don't mean to sound flip about it. My case is adult onset and began about 15 years ago so I'm still learning to deal with it.

I have finally learned to stop waiting for my life to return to "normal," and am struggling with work issues. Memory and learning problems are there although my seizures are in pretty good control and not severe to begin with.

Reading what some of you cope with makes me feel like a wimp! I'm not in contact with anyone else with E offline and I'm still working hard to rebuild my world. It looks like there are many here I could learn from.

You're definitely not a wimp -- E is life-changing, regardless of the severity of your seizures. Learning to cope is what we do here ;) Welcome to the forum!

carlos - welcome to CWE.
I hope you find it to be a place of comfort and support.

Welcome Carlos!

CWE is a great community, the next best thing to being there. I hope you explore all the different forums here, and that you feel free to jump in and ask a question or chat or vent as needed.

Best,

Zoofemme, gracias! I agree and am thankful for everyone's understanding most of all.

Hello Carlos Epilepsy or any disability that makes you work just a little harder to enjoy your life is not a wimpy challenge and I feel makes you a stronger person. Good luck to you. This a beautiful and supportive forum!
