Hello everyone, I intrduce myself, Im Eleonora from Argentina.
Arrive at a forum looking at Google, because my daughter Sofia is epileptic since last year. Have 7 years, and had a one-hour status epilepticus.
Her medication is Ospolot (150 mg / d) + Clobazan 10 mg.
This year Sofi has problems in mathematics, can not remember tables, but I do not see everyday life and have this problem!

I also want to ask mums, if their children have problems of hair loss with OSPOLOT (Sulthiame).
In Argentina there are lots of spanish forums but there is not easy to get this medication, and is also very expensive.

Hi Eleonora! I just moved your post to the Foyer since you were introducing yourself. :) Welcome to CWE. I'm sure you'll find that we're a friendly group. :) Feel free to ask questions, chime in, or just vent. As for your questions regarding Ospolot, I don't know. I remember that when I took depakote I did have hair thinning as a side effect. However, I had really thick hair to start with so it wasn't that bad.

Your english is brilliant, my Spanish is very poor.

Hopefully you will find all the info and support you need here, I suffer from uncontrolled absence seizures and have done for 20 years, I take Lamictal/Lamotrigine, luckily with no side effects.

We are a friendly bunch, and you'll find that Mr. B (aka Bernard) has created a wonderful home of sorts for us to hang out in. Music in Speber's Auditorium, the Creative Writing Room, the Library, the Padded Room for when you really need to vent, the Kitchen and much more. Oh, and the Lounge and the Foyer where we introduce ourselves.

Buckeye will eventually be around with his wonderful coffee....

If I can remember my Spanish, I might even try to type a post or better yet, a private message to you in Spanish.......although it will probably be a bit rough. We'll see.......no promises. :ponder: :banana:

The 2 links I posted are specific to Ospolot. They should give you more specifics on side effects of the drug. Just skimming through them, I didn't see anything right off-hand about losing hair, but I may have missed it, too...

I don't think Sulthiame is a very common AED - I don't see it discussed a whole lot in the various E forums that I visit.

Welcome to the CWE board or the forums. I really hope you find the info you need for your daughter Sofia. Just ask what you want to know and I am sure we can help you answer them. I really hope the best for your daughter Sophia. When I was in school I had trouble with getting through it but I did graduate and plan on going to college. I wish her the best. God Bless you both. I am from the USA and do not see much about that medication. I have had epilepsy for 27 years. Though it is tough, your daughter should still be able to achieve many of her wishes in life.

I looked up Ospolot prescribing information and I didn't find anything about hair loss. I'm sure that you will find this forum a great place to be as I have.
 
Argentina! It is so beautiful there! My daughter lived there for several months (with her father while he was on a job) and she has such wonderful memories of your country! Her pictures and descriptions make me want to jump on a plane! Don’t you speak Portuguese there? My grandson came back speaking both Portuguese and Spanish from that trip. Too bad he doesn't remember much of it anymore!

We've all had reactions to the drugs, so ask your questions, you might find others with information about it. Hope your daughter is feeling better now.
