hope you are all feeling well today :)

i got out of hospital a few weeks ago after breaking my hip in 10 different places during a grand mal seizure in A&E.

im currently taking 150mg of Pregabalin, which is going up to 300mg soon.

i was withought any seizures (to my knowledge) for about 6 or 7 years. although sometimes i wake up thinking that ive had a lesser type of seizure :dontknow:

im not really that clued up on all the different types of seizures, medication, ways of preventing seizures, etc etc but after looking around this forum im sure to gain a lot more knowledge :)

thanks for reading and i hope to get to know you all :)

Hi Lost Control Again, welcome to CWE!

I saw the movie "Control" -- very interesting stuff...

Anyway, hope you feel free to explore the forums here, post, chat, etc.

Best,

"sunny" and "scotland" in the same sentence? Not often a person sees that :P that's kind of like "dry" and "Ireland" lol.

Welcome from cold, wet, Indiana!! I am so glad that you found the site, but sorry to hear about your hip! I didn't even know it was possible to break a hip in 10 different places. You must be an over achiever :)

hahahha that made me laugh :D i thought i was a "victim" but im now an "over achiever" :)

aye they said at the hospital that when most people break a hip its the ball that they break but i managed to break the socket instead.

in the surgeons words "youve smashed it to smithereens" :crazy2:

Hey Control,

I haven't been an active member for too long and I can tell you this: You are going to have a very positive experience here. There are so many compassionate and articulate folks on this forum that I've nearly convinced myself that to have epsilepsy you must be very friendly, understanding, and quite intelligent!

Scotland, in my experience, produces some of the friendliest and most accomodating folks I've ever met. We have friends just a wee bit south of the border in Harrowgate and I love your scenery. My wife and I live in its opposite, you might say. We are in Colorado, and it's beautiful too, but in an entirely different way.

Again, welcome and please return often. I have a fair bit of Scot in me too, and I spend my days in the business of restoring classic sports cars from the U.K.

My own seizures are also what I like to call,"monster mal" and I have a few lousy injuries to show for it as well. We have some stuff in common, my new friend. Let's communicate often.

Welcome LCA - I hope that you are healing rapidly. I am sure you don't recommend it.

I am sitting here in sunny CA - actually not looking forward to a rainy winter.

I hope you find the wealth of info within these walls. I know from experience that there is a boatload of support. Let us know if we can be of help in any way.

again many thanks to everyone. you have all made me feel very welcome :)

im still finding my way around the forum and finding some very interesting topics/threads along the way :)
