I'm new here:)

My name is Scarlett. I'm 30 years old and was diagnosed with Epilepsy after a car accident in 2005. Right now I'm on Tegretol and Lamictal to control my Tonic Clonic and Myoclonic seizures. I rarely have Tonic Clonic seizures anymore, but I still suffer from hundreds of myoclonic seizures daily. Ever since I've had Epilepsy my seizures have never been totally under control so I'm hoping to hear from others who have had success with alternative treatments to treat their seizures.

hope to find great things on this forum:)
Scarlett

Welcome Scarlett

I'm also on tegretol & have been for decades. I was born with my seizures & we've never been able to control them yet. There are good periods when I'll have a few a week then other times I"ll have a few every day.

Make yourself at home, check the place out & get comfy. If you have any questions (or answers for that matter) feel free to speak up.

Hi Scarlett
It is my daughter that has had seizures. She only now has tonic clonic, though has been seizure free for 5+ months. She is med free at this time, and controls the seizures with nutritional means. Hers tends to be triggered by diet and blood sugar levels.

She does have a heterotopia in the frontal lobe, which makes her more susceptible to seizures. Yet by watching the triggers she is able to be med free.

Hi, Scarlett,

Welcome to CWE!

I'm on Lamictal, too, in addition to Trileptal. I'm just ramping up on the Lamictal. I hope to be off the Trileptal in a couple of months, because it has some side effects I can't tolerate, namely exhaustion and depression. I hope the Lamictal works as well on my seizures as Trileptal has.

This is a great forum. People share tons of knowlege and are very supportive. I'm glad you are here. :)
