I've posted on a few threads but have not officially introduced myself

My name is Joe I am 22 years old

I suffer from Grand Mal seizures although thankfully it is under control with medication and most of them happen when I am asleep but I still feel the same after-effects as having them when I am not asleep (grogginess, incoherence, confusion)

I'm glad I have been able to find an outlet where I can talk about my epilepsy with people who understand

Welcome to the Site Joe.

You're on Tegretol like I am, aren't you?

I'm also on a dosage over what's recommended but I've been on it for decades and my body is very used to it.

Hi Superman1988,

Welcome officially!

Yeah...I take 900 mg a day but that's only to keep them under control (one of my EEG's showed seizure activity every thirteen seconds)

Hi Joe, welcome to the forum. :hello:

Hi Joe!

Welcome to CWE! Love the screen name. :)

I have t/c's as well, but mine have been under control for a while--but I'm on a COCKTAIL of meds. Four of them to be precise. I also have other types of szs, but all of mine are nocturnal.

Have your t/c's decided to become nocturnal now, or do they still occur during the daytime? Do you use anything else to help control them, like diet or meditation?

Check out the nooks and crannies here in the huge, awesome house that Mr B built. The dinner party is a blast, and there's plenty of people to meet and make friends with, along with lots of information to find.

Take care!

hay superman. i have grand mal too, currently on 850mg per dayof lamictal as well. loads of people are here who understand and you

nice to meet you (sort ov...)

Welcome Joe! I am also one of those nocturnal types. I have the same feelings that you do once I wake up following a seizure night. I don't fight it anymore, just call in to my boss and take the day to recoop. I find it is a lot less stressful that way :hello:
