I am 37 yo & I've had seizures since I was 18 months old. Over the years my seizures have changed, but currently I have grand mal seizures with the occasional absence seizure. I'm diagnosed as having generalized epilepsy and I'm on keppra and Zonegran.
I have about one seizure per month (often around my period), but this is not always the case. I am looking at alternative therapies, but currently trying to focus on diet.
I also have a one year old daughter and am very fortunate to be able to stay at home with her and have a husband who is very helpful during my down times. I just want to get as close to seizure free as possible :/

Welcome to CWE Jann! :)

My name is Kristin. Im a mother of three little boys, and I was dx;d with epilepsy when I was 18 months old. I have left temporal lobe epilepsy, and I take Keppra XR.
I grew up having grand mal seizures and complex partial seizures. In the past couple of years, ive had simple partial and complex partial seizures. If there is any questions, you may have, you've come to the right place! :)

Re mom of 3

Wow!it is so nice to hear a story somewhat similar to mine. So many times I come across mothers of kids with E or teenagers who have E,but rarely someone who has had them for a lifetime like I have.
Do you mind if I ask a little about your situation? How do you feel your meds work for you? Are you seizing very frequently? As my daughter quickly approaches her one year mark, I wish that she had a sibling to play with, but remember the stress of my pregnancy :( hearing that you have three little ones makes me perk up a bit. How were your pregnancies? Did you come off meds during that time?
Thanks so much for your reply. I hope to hear more from you.
