Im John,

I am very new to this Forum. I have had Epilepsy since I was 12. I am now 34.

Thank you!, It seems like these days my meds are not working the way they should to be, I feel frustrated B/C My Meds do not seem to be working for me!:-(

Hi JCR, welcome!

Have you talked to your neuro about tweaking the dose or changing your meds? You may have some options that will make things better.

right now I am taking Dilantin (Gen). Keppra (gen) and Calonipin (gen) still does not work I am trying to keep positive about this. I have Tegretol, Neurontin, Zonisomide, Adavan. And yes the have tweeked with it. I just feel so Frustrated. And I seem to be letting it affect my 4 year Relationship. I seem to get angry fast. That is not who I am. I do not want to take anything that is MAN MADE to change my personality. My Next Dr Apt isnt till Sept. I called tell them about what was going on but nothing yet. I try to lead a stress free life but we all know how easy that is.. ;-) I some times feel like my meds are not working so why take them, I know thats not the right thing to do. Other than that Life is good for me!

Hi, just wanted to add my welcome!! It sounds like you're doing the right things by reaching out to your doctor and by joining us :) You can always vent here...we understand the frustrations. Many of us (me included) have seizures that are not controlled by meds. I hope that your Dr. calls you back soon and gets you back on track soon!

JCR, welcome. I certainly know the problem of meds not working the way we prefer... wish. I went to my doctor today and mentioned I might as well not bother taking my meds as they are not working. Well, he froze for a moment after I made that comment, turned towards me, waited maybe another 5 seconds before telling me "no, don't stop taking your medication." Then he went back to looking over my file. He is having some blood tests taken to see just where my blood levels and medication are at... From there he will decide if I should increase medications until I get in to see my neurologist. I do feel for you and where you are at and I really hope things pick up for you in the good direction.

yes I have. but my Drs visits are so far apart. that i cannot help.

John, and welcome to CWE....

We are a great big friendly family here.

Mr B has designed this as a fun dinner party, so sit down and enjoy the food, coffee (which someone else has to make, as I burn it) and just have FUN.

Have you considered that perhaps your diet is part of the issue as well?

There are a number of different diets that can help.....Modified Atkins, Ketogenic, and more....
