Hello everyone. My name is Stephanie and this is my first visit. I was diagnosed with epilepsy 5 years ago, but it seems to be affecting my life eveyday just now! Not seizures, just roll on effects. Very annoying! If anyone would like to chat, drop me a message xxx

Hi Stephanie, welcome to the forum. :hello:

I'm sure you will find many people here have the same issues you face. Make yourself at home here. :)

:hello: Stephanie!

Welcome to CWE! Kick back and
browse around and make yourself
a home! Glad you've dropped in!

Hi Stephanie - Welcome

My daughter was diagnosed 1.5 yrs ago and she has on the avg. 3-4 seizures a month. I am not sure I understand what you mean by roll on effects.

Welcome Stephanie

Lots of others here with the same issues, so you aren't alone! This place is pretty cool and tons of wonderful, helpful folks.

By roll on effects I mean getting suspended from my job after having a seizure at work! Ther are loads of really small silly things too like not being able to get pierced anymore, some places wont tattoo me, driving. Feels like getting your wings clipped a little.

Wow! Hi glitterbug! I'm surprised that your employers were allowed to fire you after a seizure. I live in the US. I'm a teacher and have had several seizures in the classroom. My district just lets me go home, sleep the rest of the day, and then come back to work the next day. Anyway, welcome to the forum. The people here are great. :)

Funny I should see your posting the same day the epilepsy centre in my town sent me literature on Epilepsy & employment.

They did suggest a few websites one of which is workink.org for employment counselling though I haven't checked it out yet.

Also, Find out if you can legally be suspended for having a seizure & see what action can be taken if not.
