I'm new here. I have been reading some of the info here a while before posting. I have had epilepsy for about 4 years after a accident left me with severe brain damage. I have tried hard to be the person I once was, but I have come to conclusion that I am a different person. Not better or worse, just different. I just wanted to say hi.

Welcome to CWE Lisa. I hope you enjoy it here. Everyone here is cool and friendly. Again Welcome.

Hi Lisa, welcome to the forum. :hello:

I'm glad you decided to say hello. I think you will find that interacting with the members yields greater rewards than just reading/lurking.

Hi Lisa! I know what you mean about being different. I had an accident that messed up my arm...and got lots of infections, came very close to having my arm amputated. Either the infections or the meds or both caused my seizure disorder. I do still have my arm, but I have limited use and medically my arm is "deemed grossily deformed" but I thank God everyday for my beautiful arm. It's different but it's who I am now.
Actually dealing with the seizures is a lot harder than what I went thru in the past few years.
Nice to meet you...I lurk sometimes too

Hello Lisa!:hello:

Welcome to CWE Board. I hope you enjoy the board as much as I do. You will meet alot of nice and wonderful people on here. I wanted to say I know what you mean about being different. My epilepsy started at age 3. I have been on every medicine and also had the Vagus Nerve stimulator. No help just shorter seizures but same amount every month. So I decided to do the brain surgery. I did it May 22nd of this year and so far no seizures. I hope it stays that way. I hope you and everyone else that goes through the problem Epilepsy the best. Take care and it is nice to meet you. :)

Thanks for the welcome! Over the last 4 years I have been on 6 different medicines, and none have worked 100%. Now Im on 1500 mg of trileptal. It doesnt work 100% either, but the side effects dont enhance my brain damage other than making me sleepy. Luckily I have a whole team of professionals that keep me up and running including a neuro that treats me like a human. I went through2 before finding him, which goes to prove third times a charm. Not to mention he is good looking.:roflmao:

Hello Lisa

Hi Lisa and welcome to this wonderful group. I'm sorry to hear about what you've been through. I'm also dealing with being a different person so I understand what you are experiencing, and I've dealt with the numerous meds, as well. I wish you good luck!
Sincerely,
Josie
