My five year old, who has epilepsy with seizures under control with trileptal and supplements, just started having cluster seizures at night. They happen soon after going to bed, every five minutes and last for two hours. They start out as just stomach pains, then after an hour he starts having small seizures along with the pains.

I did bring him to Children's Hospital a month ago for this. They said he was fine. It's starting to happen every few nights. He is so tired in the morning from this and in so much pain at night. I have another call into the Dr. but have not heard back.

Does anyone have any idea what might be going on with him? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

I know a lot of people experience nocturnal seizures around when they fall asleep or wake up. It's because of the brain-wave change from being awake to being asleep.

Define "Small Seizures" for us... what do you mean? Like simple-partials?

Keep calling the doctor. If your son's seizures have gotten worse, then it's possible that the Trileptal dose needs to be adjusted, or another med or treatment needs to be considered.
