As some of you may know, I was mistakenly prescribed generic toperimirate. Then was switched back to brand name
I can't cycle, can't swim, I'm just getting too many sp's.
I have told my neurologist but he just gave me a note to give to my GP to switch me back to the 25mg Topamax. I couldn't get a doctors appointment till Thursday.

I am often having one sp after another. I can't wait till Thursday, and then even if he does change it back, I'll still have to wait or it to kick in again.
Neurologists just don't give a damn.
I really can't cope with this. Has anyone got any suggestions?

Can I increase my Topamax dose? probably not I guess. :(
Yeah I know ask my neurologist or doctor but both are useless who won't let me go past the headache dose and I really need to do something to stop this.
I'm struggling. :(

Wish I could help :( ... Did you break down and call your neuro to see what they would say?

im in the same situation! but im lucky in the fact that my neurologists secretary has been extremely helpful to the point of kicking my doctors backside verbally for prescribing me the generic ones instead of keppra, i have had countless arguements with doctors at my gp surgery over the past 2 days its unreal they basically told me tough crap they arent going to contact me again and if i want to discuss this any further then to attend and arranged appointment for next friday!! so considerate arent they??? hope you get somewhere soon!! not really advice but just keep on ringing and being on their case..they soon get sick of you lol! xxx

The branded Topamax has started working again now, it took it's time but back to normal now.

My doctors surgery don't like you ordering your medications early, not even a few days. Well tough because I'm ordering it a week early from now on!!! That way any mistakes have time to be corrected and I won't get in that situation again.
They won't like it but tough, I didn't like the seizures more!

Glad you finally got sorted, can you not put an automatic repeat prescription in with the pharmacy instead of going through the GP surgery? some one mentioned this to me a few days ago but havent had the chance to look into it, you should be able to though as it is a ongoing medication which wont be changed (or shouldnt be) without good reason and timing. Im still on the generic for keppra at the minute (Levetericetam) although my consultant spoke to the GP surgery to tell them i needed to remain on keppra they can not give me the prescription until they have it in writing which personally is a load of crap!! My doctors aren't too fussed on ordering early (i just say i have to because of my working schedule) they have a little box that you put your repeats in an then collect a few days later so they dont really have the chance to question it lol x
