Whats up everyone, Im John and I Have Epilepsy.

Im from a little 'north island' of New Zealand, Ive been in a state of denial of my condition for years, but recently one morning I had a seizure at work... I woke up in an ambulance feeling pretty good (like I was on holiday in the sun on a deserted baech) Funny yeah.

Anyway, Ive lost my drivers licence but im feeling really good with my life and my condition.. and its a good feeling Ive found this site where I can reach out and chat with indivuals which share with me that no one else in my life really knows about.

With a big smile, Its a pleasure to meet you!

Hi, helllo

and how do you do, John???

It's very nice to meet you, too!

It's great to see that your attitude is looking up a bit. Living in denial is always a pain in the arse, and never a good thing. But it happens quite often. I went through it about 18 months ago when they found a couple more kinds of E for my collection

I'm sure you're gong to fit in well here at CWE. Be sure to check out all the different nooks and crannies that you'll find. Mr B, our host, has built us an AWESOME home to have this wonderful dinner party in.

So kick up your feet, relax, meet plenty of new friends, and hopefully someone else will bring some decent drinks around.......I keep burning the coffee.

And if you're lucky, maybe Buckeye will stop by with some freshly cooked brats for ya.......he tells me I have to come get them. LOLOL.

There's lots of great information here--the Library and the Kitchen are full of it, and RobinN is our information guru. One of us is studying to be a neurologist and can give you more detailed answers to some questions that the rest of us might not be able to--that's DrArvindr.

Take care!

Hi John, welcome to NZ!

You've found a great place to chat and ask questions about E. I hope you feel free to explore the archives and forums and post or vent as the mood suits.

I've always wanted to visit your faraway country. Someday...

Best,
Nakamova

Hi John, welcome to the forum. :hello:

First of all, Meetz1064: Thankyou very much indeed for your detailed reply and warm welcome. Ive spent some time on here now reading through topics from peoples experiences to medical research... and what ive personally found is that there are some really tallented people out there with E, and to me, thats awesome. Thanks again for the jump start to get me reading through the info here... even tho im no schollar ;) :D
NakaMova: Where abouts do you come from? Come over and experience some adventure tourism! Or maybe some camping in the far north in a sub tropical climate, the plant and wild life will blow your mind...
Bernard: Cheers for the welcome mate, what form of E compliments you?

Awesome this site is. Jonny.

welcome to the forums. and congrats on your newly changed "green" lifestyle and reduction in carbon footprint. (just kiddying you).

its very important to have a healthy sense of humor and positive outlook on life when you have this condition. things are not all dark and black as you first think them to be.

i lost my drivers license, then got it back, then i lost it again. then i even volutarily gave it up. moving to transit has been quite good. i spend about 4 to 5 hours communing to work and back per day. as an IT guy i get lots of work done and experiment with lots of stuff and has probably made me much more emplyable. i have learnt the enitre Oracle and IBM product lines inside out. :-)

welcome.

Hi, John!

Welcome to CWE!

What a beautiful country you live in. My last vacation in SE Asia I met a few people who were from New Zealand. What a nice bunch of people. So I'm guessing you have beautiful scenery, AND beautiful people. :)

Hi John
Welcome - it is my daughter that has a seizure disorder. She has dealt with this for the past four years. We seem to be putting it in its place. She is unmedicated and controlling it with nutrition.

Wishing you all the best

Jon, NZ is tops on my travel wishlist, but I need to wait until I have the money -- and the time. It's far enough away from Massachusetts that i want to have a good long visit when I get there. Hopefully with lots of kayaking and hiking...
