As usual I was having my 6am coffee at work and was looking over some post and I saw where you posted awhile ago on your daughters diet.
I love my coffee too.
How has that worked out for the two of you?
It has worked wonders. I think it is the number one reason my daughter has gained control of her seizure episodes.
Also has the neuro feedback worked as well?
Yes the
neuro feedback has also been helpful to stop the kindling aspect of her seizures. I believe the brain learned that this was a release mechanism, and when overloaded for whatever reason, seizures occurred. However, the NFB has created a more stable brain.
My sister inlaw used to be a dietitian but she hasn't been for several years. I've asked her about it and basically was told to do research she knew nothing on it.
This is what I have found to be the case as well. When we are referred to conventional doctors, their training has not kept up with the current research or evidence that is now being witnessed in the neuro communities. I have linked over and over here the places that I have found my information.
when you have time could you explain the process how to start what to cut out first and why. Post it here or simply create it as a word doc and send it to me via Private Message please. thank you.//
haha... 3 yrs of research, neatly sent to you in a word doc. If I had that I would write a book. I was thrown into this sideways, and had to tread water for many months before I got my bearings. Luckily I found some great answers here online, and as I stated above, I have littered this site with my findings. I don't mean to imply that you must go do your own research, but it is not in book form, nor do I have the time to write you a paper on the subject.
In a nut shell how we started...
Dogtor J recommended that we begin with a gluten free, casein free, soy free, and corn free diet. All preservatives, and additives were removed, and sugars were greatly reduced. The results did not happen over night, but I have evidence of improvement over the past year. Her neurologist can not even argue with that. She remains med free.
Hope that helps
