Hello guys, I'm having epilepsy since 8 years. i'm under medication. Based on my resent research on web n some books, I think I've Simple partial seizure. you must be wondering why i'm not sure what kind of epilepsy i'm having !!! hmm.. may be because I wasn't worried too much about it nor really cared about it, the reason because i was NORMAL all the time. The symptoms comes back only when i reduce the doses[ on doctors suggestion]. so doctor will prescribe same dosage that i used to take before. n everything comes back to normal.

Couple of month back i forgot to take my medicine in d morning. after some days, I got strange feeling, fear, unusual feeling in the stomach [I couldn't explain dis to my doctor], my heart beat raises all of sudden, wired memory disturbances !!I new what was coming to me..these things were not new , it used to happen when doctor suggested to reduce the medicine dosage from 300mg to 200 mg or something like that..It's been 2 months now i'm on high dosage. feeling bit okay.

I never really thought there would be a community exist for epilepsy. i'm so glad to find this during my research on web.

Now it's been 8 years of living epilepsy, now It started worrying me , what if i never get cured ?!!! I've made up my mind to change my complete life style to be seizure free. I used to play video games alot like a hardcore gamer. from past 3 weeks I didn't touch my Xbox 360 controller. decided not to play again. started doing morning exercise., going to bed early etc.

I've hell lot of questions to ask you guys. I'l post it in appropriate sections !! now i think,... should have found you guys earlier, never really had anyone with same problem !!! I used to post my comments , reviews on almost every game forums. used to discuss about it !!! now i regret why i didn't googled for epilepsy forums :(

I'l be hoping to see you'r replies !!! Sorry for the long post though !!!

Hello and welcome.

First thing you need to know about this place is that your enthusiasm is absolutely suited to this site. You'll love it here, it's like having a whole group of neurologists, but ones who actually know first hand what you're going through.

Well done on getting more exercise, sleeping better, etc. That is definitely the right thing to be doing. You'll probably see some good results with that! Mine have improved since I really started putting in the effort exercise wise.

Don't worry about not knowing what type of epilepsy you have, a lot of us here haven't even been diagnosed with epilepsy yet.

Hi MrGreen, welcome to CWE!

The strange feeling, the fear, the unusual sensations in the stomach, increased heart rate, and memory issues sound like Simple Partial Seizures. They can take a WIDE variety of forms -- you can read about them in various CWE threads such as this one:
http://www.coping-with-epilepsy.com...who-have-simple-partial-seizures-auras-15293/
And for good general info about Sps:
http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/000697.htm

You're in good company! I hope you feel free to explore the forums and post any and all questions.

Best,
Nakamova

Hi & Welcome MrGreen,

Like Nak said, it does sound like you're having SP seizures as they can take on a huge variety of forms and be difficult to diagnose.

I've been living 30+ years with E, experiencing SP, CP, and TC seizures. I changed my lifestyle, tried many medications, had brain surgery, VNS and was never "cured". I really don't think there is a cure for epilepsy. Only treatments. Taking good care of yourself is a great start.

Hi and welcome to CWE.

You mentioned video games, I can not. go into a game room at he mall. I found I can not be in church during the music, BC the lights are so low and the lights look like something you would see at a concert.

Hope you will find support, knowledge, and just the feeling that you are not alone.

My meds control mine pretty good, though I still have petite seizures. However, not enough sleep or flashing lights, I wake up in the hospital after a grand mal. I have a new monitor that isn't supposed to bother you(for 6 months) but it causes Aura's so I stay away from the computer for an hour and I'm fine. Unfortunately, it's my job so it's a several times a day occurance.

My meds. have my seizures under control, until A trigger hits.

I can not take over the counter Vitamins, another trigger, If I lose sleep another trigger.

I had heard any about triggers much less pay attention to what would cause a seizure.
I am very lucky in the fact that I don't have a seizure until one of these triggers happens.

Thanks for all your replies It's a great relief to be part of this community !! I'm no expert in seizures, though i've it from past 8 years. I think i'm in right place to learn more about my seizure. Thanks again for your support. see you around.
