Hi to all!

My name's Alexei.

I'm from Russia, Eastern Syberia.

I have no problem with seizures but my wife has.

Long period, I was trying to find effective non-medication methods for treatment of this desease, and finally, have taken 3 ones: EEG neurofeedback, GSR-traning and abdominal breath traning biofeedback.

I'm glad to share my knowledge and experience reffering these methods with all of you.

Hi Alexei, welcome to the forum. :hello:

I share a similar background to yours. My wife also is the one with epilepsy and she has tried a variety of different approaches to managing her epilepsy, but found diet (pseudo-LGIT), sleep (9 hours/night) and EEG neurofeedback to be the most effective non-drug therapies (for her).

Are you administering the neurofeedback yourself, or do you have doctors who specialize/oversee neurofeedback training in your area/country?

P.S. Are you part of this group? http://veeg.ru/forum/

Welcome Alexei -
I also don't have a problem with seizures, my daughter does. We are just beginning to find what works for her, not always easy with a teen. However, her seizures are the tonic clonic variety which put her into the Emergency Room quite often. So it is extremely important that I find what works. Regular medication has not been much help. I am seeing good results with diet, and am researching neurofeedback. I actually have a GSR website up right now.

Good to have you join us, as this approach is beginning to blossom I see.

Welcome Alexei!....

I hope you get good information for yourself as well!

Peace!

Hi to all of you, collegues!

Thanx for your kindest reception!

My deep believe now, that epilepsy is curable disorder.
I mean it's possible to get rid of meds by means of self traning methods.

EEG neurofeedback is very powerful tool for that, but it's rather athletic gym, than classical therapy.
There are many parameters you should take in to account: appropriate thresholds, refractory periods and so on and motivation - the last but not least.

All is similar to athletic training. And it needs good instructor.

Are you part of this group? h**p://veeg.ru/forum/

Well Bernard, yes to some extand :) This site belongs to Moscow center of epileptology. Dr Vasiliy Generalov, the head of it, is a respected specialist in video EEG research.

You know, video EEG is very useful diagnostic tool.

As for me - I'm not pofessional in this field. I graduated two Universities: Moscow State Univesity and Irkutsk State University and have two Masters of Science as a mathematician and as a tax lawyer :)

Best regards,

Alexei

Awesome! Thanks for the explanation on veeg.ru. I tried reading a bit using Google's automatic translations, and could understand a lot of what is wrtten there, but there was more that didn't translate well and left me :ponder:.
