Hi I'm 33 . i have not been dxed with anything as of yet but i wanted to see what some of you thought about something that has been happening to me recently. Just a little background i have has several seizures in the past they started when I was about 13,14 years old they would happen almost daily then. i was put on some medication i dont remember what kind and they stopped. I was taken off the meds and didn't have another seizure untill i was in my twenties, since then i've had seizures after blood draws or if I'm in any pain and some unexplained. I have woken up on the floor several times and become very cunfused and unable to function on many occasions. Now I've had a strange thing happen I've been asleep and dreaming and suddenly everything will stop and I feel as if i died then i will wake up suddenly gasping and be really confused and soar. Does this sound like a seizure. i have not had any tests done since the seizures first began. i almost always wake up very tired with headaches.

Welcome to CWE. Yes, you might be having nocturnal siezures, but that needs confirmed by a doctor, preferably a neurologist.

We can't do much to help diagnose you here, but we can help you cope and share the experiences we have had.

You didn't mention if you were currently on any meds.

Stick around for awhile and check out our different rooms. Plenty here to read about epilepsy and treatment. Also, some other stuff to help you relax and have a laugh.

Thankyou for the welcome.I know no one here can give a dx.i am terrified of doctors do to having many seizures in the doctors office and was just wanting some opinions before deciding to go in. I'm not on any meds for seizures. i do take a med for blood pressure and two for anexity.the seizures i have had have been grand mals and some where I just cant talk or move.

I understand how powerful fear can be. But I encourage you to see a doctor for your epilepsy. Life can be so much better with treatment. Tens of thousands of people are leading basically normal lives with epilepsy.

I have had E since I was 20. At that time, I had one daughter and a young wife. Now at 47, I have earned two degrees, work full time making pretty decent wages, have three daughters, a son-in-law, two wonderful grandchildren and still play basketball 3-4 times a week.

I have been involved in many groups/organizations and serve on two boards. I was a volunteer EMT for 20 years and had the opportunity to help hundreds of people in that role.

Not saying any of this to brag. Saying this to show you that life with epilepsy can be OK. There are thousands of others out there just like me.

Please take that big step and get back to the doctor soon.

Hi horsehead, welcome to the forum. :hello:

It's possible that it was a seizure. It's also possible that you have sleep apnea (or something else). A sleep study (where you are monitored overnight at a hospital) should provide more answers.

Thank you for your replys. I have another question. When I was pregnant,I have two children 5 and 15,I did not have any seizures even with all the blood draws and pain.Anybody have any ideas why that might be? I was thinking if I could find out maybe I could stop the seizures.

I had two of those"what ever they are" last night. So I will be seeing the doc when my husband gets home,he's away on business.I dont really have anyone around who can help me so I have to keep truggin along.
