Hi guys. Since I also need help , I thought to join this conversation. My nephew is 9 and he has have an epilepsy since he was 18 months old. We are from Bosnia and so far he has been treated only there. Since I will be in the States for some short time I would like to know from your experience which is the most successful epilepsy center in the States to go for the opinion. I would just like to know if he has been treated well and if it can be improved (you don’t want to know what hospital and expertise staff conditions are in Bosnia). I am in DC now and I have all needed medical records. What do you think- where to start? He is getting worse in a sense that now he feels that he is different and the environment there is not that acceptable for “different”. I would do anything to help him since he is a wonderful kid . Thank you guys sooo much! :hi5:

Hi Daria,

Welcome! I hope you are able to get the help you need for your nephew. :e:

Definitely take a look at the link Mr. B just posted, it will give you a starting point perhaps. Others may also reply with their own suggestions.

All the best while you are in the states! -Julie

P.S. Hey, Mr. B, thanks for that link! I hadn't realised it was posted on the site. :)

Hi Daria! Welcome to CWE. Definitely check out the link in Bernard's reply regarding level 3/4 epilepsy centers.

Also, feeling "different" isn't all that unusual. Hate to say it. Many of us here have gone through that stage. When I went through it, how my parents reacted to my seizures strongly effected how I felt about the seizures.

Hey Guys, thanks! You are the best :)
I will check the map - and in some time from now, I will let you know what are the results ;) In the meantime - HAPPY HOLIDAYS :)
