Hi... I'm 30 years old. Four years ago, I had my first seizure. At that time I was under a lot of stress, lots of coffee and lack of sleep. The fall caused me a hiernated disc in my neck which I had to do an operation.

The doctor did not want to put me on any med for one seizure. 8 months later I got a second seizure. I got tapered up to Lamictal 100mg/day. No seizures for 3years. That is until I decided to get pregnant. I tapered off lamictal and got pregnant.
During pregnancy my asthma was aggravated really bad I've visited the ER 3 times and then last week I had a miscarriage because the baby was not growing. 5 days later I had an aura followed by a full blown seizure. It is partial seizure secondary generalised.

I am in sooo much pain. Physical and mental. I can't stop crying. Probably I will treated for asthma AND epilepsy if I get pregnant. I'm going nuts and I can't stop crying. I had one of the worst months in my life and no body seems to feel how tormented I am.

Hi Moora,

I am so sorry of the lose of your baby.

It sounds that you have just recently been disgo. that in it self is hard to deal with.
Your body has gone thru a lot, stress can trigger a seizure and YOU HAVE had the stress.

You have come to the right place, the people here understand the seiz. meds Dr. and all that comes Epilepsy.

Hi moora, welcome to CWE!

I'm so sorry to hear about your miscarriage and seizures. Big hugs to you, I hope you are very gentle with yourself during this very rough patch. Give yourself time to grieve and heal.

When you are feeling up to it, you may want to discuss a hormonal treatment approach with your neurologist -- it's possible that your seizures are hormonally-related. That might explain the timing of this last one -- the drop in progesterone could be a trigger.

Best,
Nakamova

Oh Mora.. I am also so sorry for your loss. I truly understand as I had two miscarriages myself and of course epilepsy. As others have said be gentle to yourself and give yourself time to heal. You have so much going on. Please let any of us know at CWE any questions or any support that you might need. There is always a tender heart and a wealth of information at your fingertips here.

Are you in pain because of the miscarriage or your back pain, or possibly a combination of the both?

Gentle hugs to you.

MaryK
