Hi everybody. Here's a new update on my situation. :)

I've just come home from the hospital (I was there for two weeks). This is what I have learned:

My fallings were caused by low blood pressure and were not epileptic. I haven't fallen for a long time (I have figured out what I need to watch out for).

My nocturnal seizures are simple partials. Interesting to talk to so many people who experience the same. One had the same feeling in the stomach, one couldn't move her body either, many had seizures at night like me. They really understood - not like when I try to explain my seizures to my family.

I have absence seizures - and maybe simple partials too - at daytime but I didn't have any of those seizures while I was there.

Oh and I'm pregnant!

We decided to wait with medication till I have given birth. The seizures are so rare at the moment there's hardly anything to treat. Usually I have about 4 seizures a month (or 4 days with seizures, they come in clusters) so when I'm back in my "normal schedule" after birth they will actually have something to compare with to see if the meds work.

Well I think that's all that's new. Quite an experience meeting all those with epilepsy going through the same thing!

Have a nice day. :)

Glad you're home! I wonder how many people with epilepsy may also have blood pressure issues. Or if you have epilepsy, does that make you more vulnerable to low blood pressure?

Congrats on being pregnant! Best of luck to you. :)

Thank you :-)

That could be interesting to know. Do you know of others with low blood pressure? I also get migraines but I know that's not unusual for someone with epilepsy.

Mellismom, I'm glad you are home now, and congrats on the baby. Did you realize you were pregnant before you went in?

Nak. I have had normal to low (very low at times) and have fainted numerous times from it. It has been as low as 65/40 and I feel like I might die when it gets that low. I have learned to stay hydrated and to eat extra salt.

I also think the low sodium levels cause the severe cramps in my calves, feet and inner thighs.

I have had it my entire life but only have had epilepsy since July 2010, starting the day after a small stroke.

Hi MAB, thank you. :-) I knew I was pregnant before christmas so I had known it a few weeks. I had just found out the first time I spoke to a doctor from the hospital. It was nice to know they are all epilepsy specialists and I had a doctor who knew a lot about being pregnant while having epilepsy so I felt that both my baby and I were in good hands.

Sounds like you've made some important decisions. Congratulations on the pregnancy BTW.

Glad you are home and doing better. Congrats on the baby! I can't help but be nosey and ask, you don't have to ask but whats your due date? :)

My due date is 22 of July and my birthday is the 6th. He/she will be a birthday present. ;-)
