i am just curious as to how many seizures people average out on in a month ??

ill go first .. im not quite sure how many i average out on because mine are so un-controlled but to give you an idea

april - i had 19
may - i had 10
june - so far i have had 12

i will be glad when i see the neurologist on 9th july :) cause i was to start getting them under control

i always think to myself "i should control them, not them control me"

some kind of partials ( im not sure the difference between simple and complex) and generalised tonic-clonic's up-on waking

Average 5 - 8 daily with clusters at certain times of the month. So I guess, what, 200? But that would be only simple or complex partials. No tonic clonics. But some neurologists would say 0 since they don't register on eegs.

I am currently going diagnostic tests and procedures, so I hesitate to label mine as seizures. So, I average out 10-15 subtle or not subtle myoclonic jerks on a good day. On "bad" days( which today hasnt been one..yet), I average out 20-25 mild jerks with at least one or two more violent jerkind that would either be two extremeties or the whoe body.

My EEG will be in two days and my MRI in three. So, I will hopefuly have some type of diagnosis by next week.

ive heard and seen quite a few people talk about myoclonic jerks now ... can anyone tell me what these are ?

I've been tracking mine for nearly a year and a half now. I have alot of auras and migraines but only track my partials and t/c's in the numbers. I am currently averaging 7.8 a week. My highest week was 41 in one week.

This past week was a good week with nothing to document. I had a few bad dreams/nightmares but since I didn't call anyone during the night (indicating I had a sz) and I don't remember anything then I assume there was nothing to document. I have alot of nocturnals and often only know if my husband is here or I call him during one. Plus I like being able to say I had a good week :P

I have catamenial epilepsy on top of the mtle so mine go up and down throughout the month.

jayde -- myoclonic jerks are twitches and muscle spasms. Not all of them are abnormal (for instance, many people experience a myoclonic muscle jerk just as they are falling asleep, and hiccups also fall in this category), but in folks with epilepsy, abnormal brainwaves are causing the "motor seizures". They can vary quite a bit in frequency, duration, and strength.

I have myoclonic jerks everyday, simple partials most days and complex partials a few times a week.

2 tc's so far this month, which is pretty good for me, the number is slooooowly decreasing as the meds go up.

Nicholas! The numbers look better but my gosh!! That's a lot of seizures! I take it you can't work? I see three months in row! Good for you. Have you found a trigger or something? Also, what kind of seizures? I hope things go well for you!

I have 8-10 simple partials (give or take) every day. But I gladly take that as opposed to the full blown gelastic seizures I was having every day..
