Hey all,

Wanted to get some feedback and kinda get a grasp on it all...exclusively about TC's...

I started having seizures when I was 20... I'm 26 now... I've had 9 tonic clonic seizures in 6 years... longest time between was nearly 2 years up until recently and a year span tc-free prior to that....

if you're having them all the time, try to estimate as close a number as you can...

I've only had 5 tonic clonics since I was diagnosed in 1982. Complex partials are my thing. I've had maybe 10,000 of those since 1982.

At first it started December of 2011, and the first time it happened I went to the hospital. They continued after about 1 or two times after. I remember mowing the lawn, and I remain seizure free for about 7 months until Christmas of 2012 then I had one just a few days prior then one after new years I believe. They kept happening for a few months, and finally I seen a neurologist which was May of 2013 then I averaged a seizure once a month from there until August or so when I was put on a new medicine and I remain free ever since at least as far as I am aware of.

I learned a lesson, even when you cannot afford treatment and like my father he refused to take me to a doctor for a long time. Even when I was sick with a cold, he told me not to tell the doctor or else he'd want a lot of testing. I should have just called 911 after the second or third seizure, but I was kind of paranoid of what my father would do (we fight a lot) and I finally got to the point of calling them and he finally agreed to setup an appointment with a neurologist. Went through so much struggle. Anyway, this is off topic but it's hard to say. So far, it was about 9 to 13 tonic clonic seizures so far. I haven't kept up with them before 2013 now I keep a seizure diary since I am sure I have epilepsy. At least now I am seizure free and I get access to medical care.

I've had 5 total - one from way too much partying where the doc slapped my wrist and said no more of that. One 14 years later (no partying involved, diagnosed), one 7 years later just after being switched to generic, doubled dosed then one 1 1/2 years later, back to brand plus Keppra and one last month, don't know what trigger was, still testing. So 4 total

Two that I know of for sure, and at least one other before I knew I had epilepsy. None since getting on lamictal in 2009. Knock wood.

This is really interesting... I'd like to get as large a 'sample size' as I can... it's really interesting to hear the variance.... not some cold statistics out of a foreign webpage or 'study' but a kind of hands on approach through a forum like this...

I had my 1st tonic clonic as a baby when I was 9 months then had tonic clonic seizures until I was 2 or 3. I don't know how many I had during that time but my Mum has said I used to have them alot so I guess I had 100s during my infancy.

I had no seizures at all for 21 years until I started taking seizures again in 2002 & since then I've only had 5 Tonic Clonics.

Tonic Clonics?

Hmmm. I never thought i would see that asked. I had my first TC in September in September 2013. I had a cluster of four. after that, i had four to six a day. Now i have on or two every day but mostly at night and right after i wake up. Int the last nine months i think I've had at least 400 TC/s. I have 900 or more Absence seizures a day on top of that. The drop seizures are ones that sometimes head head drops for a second, sometimes i land on my head (thankful for helmets) I had a few that cause me to fall flat on my butt. I hope that helps.

None that I know of, unless they occurred during sleep and I thought it was another seizure type. I am known to have tonic, myoclonic, simple partial and complex partial.
