You always here about that it's important for people with Epilepsy need to be careful not to get dehydrated. Don't they even say drinking 1/2 a gallon to a gallon a day can offset some of the AED's side effects. I don't always drink as much as I should. Sometimes though I do drink a full gallon in one day. How about you?

Maybe 3 glasses of pure water. If I can include coffee, that puts me very close to the 8 glasses per day recommendation. Yes, I should probably drink more water.

I truly

drink about 3 liters a day.........most of the time. Some days, not so much, but most of the time, it's 3 liters.

I don't keep track, but since I work at home I'm always taking breaks and drinking water. And Lamictal gives me cottonmouth at night, so I've always got a glass of water at my bedside.

It's a good idea to make sure you're getting not just water but electrolytes (with vitamin water, or vitamin supplements) if you increase your exercise or if it's especially hot outside.

I make it easy to keep track by using a huge 32 oz. water glass. I make sure I fill it up 3 times every day. I'm on topamax and don't want to get kidney stones - a common side effect if you don't guzzle tons of water. Plus lots of water makes your skin look young. :)

Probably not enough, or is it ?

I used to drink about 3 litres a day, but then after coming on here, and doing a bit of research, the thought of the water diluting my medication kinda scared me, as it does make sense.

So, I've kinda turned down the amount of water I drink, but probably still get in around 1-2 litres a day (including the water contained in other drinks).

If I'm down the gym though, I can kill another 1.5 litres in one session <eeek>

Dehydration

Hi,
I always knew dehydration is not good for anyone but didn't know that people with seizures should be extra cautious not to get dehydrated. I still love drinking a cup of tea everyday and make up by drinking at least 4 glasses of water a day.
Hope that's enough? Anyways, Thanks for the info!

I hate water!
I dont like drinking without some sort of flavor. It boggles my mind how something that is "colourless, tasteles, odorless" can still have all of the above and its not supposed to. So if its flavoured, it can hide the impurties I notice. It either tastes/smells metallic, plasticy, earthy, stale etc. but when you add lemon and sugar to it, it tastes like lemon and sugar because it covers the grossness.

My favorite thing I say about water it: Don't drink water, fish have sex in it" or I write on plastic bottles of water "I used to be dinosaur pee! taste me and see!"

i know im strange...I'll walk away now. :D
