My son has seizures that have been pretty well controlled. He is a young adult who needs to move to Los Angeles for his career; however, he has no resources to help him live independently. For instance, where can he find a roommate who could be of value if and when my son has a seizure?
How does he live safely and confidently when his family is 3,000 miles away. We do know about SmartMonitor and similar devices. It's the roommate and real estate problem we face at the moment.
Thank you for an ideas.

Hi Abilene,
One thing your son could do is check out Zillow real estate and also Zillow help center they may be able to help him find a place in Los Angeles where he can find a roommate or he can look at places up for rent or sale and he may find someone who is looking for a roommate. I'm not 100% sure this will work but it's worth a try. I'm looking for a place in VA. for retirement and I found a great retirement home along with transportation and I will be close to a grocery store and drug store. I wish you and your son the best of luck and May God Bless the Both of You!

Can his new employer provide any leads or tips? You or your son could also contact county social services where he will be living. And the "Independent Living Center of Southern California" at http://ilcsc.org/ might be able to point him in the right direction.

Craigslist or a neighborhood listserv in the area where he hope to live would also be a good resource for listings for housing and roommates, and also posting his own search info and preferences.
