Okay, as I recall last I was here was telling you about my vibrating foot. Did I cover that it turns out to be Neuropathy? I had ALL kinds of tests, talk about opening a can of worms.
I may have said that my Neurologist ordered bloodwork and they found a protein in the blood that wasn't supposed to be there so he sent me to a Hematologist and he ordered blood work and a bone biopsy, testing for amyloid, thankfully negative. WHEW. My memory is bad so I don't remember when I was last here.
Anyway, what I'm mad about is recently I found out they FIRED my Neurologist, my most favorite doctor. He was fired because he SAVED A LIFE! This patient in the hospital was on life support and this other doctor who is responsible for getting him fired was caring for him as far as respiratory is concerned and said to the family he didn't think he'd make it and wanted to turn off life support and they went to MY Neurologist for a second opinion. My guess is his condition had something to do with the brain, stroke or something.
Anyway, they went to my doctor for a second opinion and he said he disagreed with the doctor and told them he didn't need to turn off life support and the guy LIVED. The other doctor who wanted to turn off life support, got PISSED and fired him because he was afraid my doctor would go to someone and make him look bad. So now my doctor is moving out of state and I lost him as my doctor. Makes me so mad, especially since although I don't know the doctor's name, my Neurologist gave me a hint and I figured out for myself it's a doctor I had in the hospital and since then, I've fired that creep as my current and future doctor.
I told my Neurologist that I think he's the best at what he does and that they are just jealous and I appreciated him treating me like a human being and not a pay check. I gave him a 8x10 of my brain MRI with the Subdural hematoma framed lol and some cards with nice things said about him, telling him thanks for taking care of me and wishing him well and that I'd miss him. Plus wrote him a poem and he really liked that. It made him smile and he said it was very sweet.
I'm sad I won't get to see him anymore and he said most of his patients are being turned over to a Nurse Practitioner? Bet they aren't happy about that. However, he's referred me to a regular Neurologist cause he said I'm complicated. lol
Those doctors lost a great doctor and they know it cause in the first month he was there, he had a completely full schedule of patients and none of the other doctors did who have been there for years. His reputation speaks for itself and he is highly regarded and that a**hole doctor who got him fired is jealous. He couldn't take the fact he was wrong. He was willing to kill a patient to save his reputation.
If not for my doctor, that family would be grieving his death when he could have been saved and was by my doctor. I told my Neurologist that and he said he didn't know about killing and I told him turning off life support when it wasn't necessary was the same thing and he agreed.
I'm sad to see him go, he's the one doctor that was always on top of things, never settled for just one diagnosis and very thorough and caring. He said he was never well treated since he got there and that makes me more mad but nothing I can do. *sighs*
