It was a bit shocking but after a three day veeg and an mri it shows I am not having seizures. What they found was a disk in my neck is pressing on my spinal cord that is causing my left side of my body to be weak,my musles to twitch and the bladder problems. It also showed that i have insomnia which is causing something to happen in my sleep where i wake up quickly scream and shake and the stairing spells which my body just goes to sleep but i am still somewhat aware. What i thought were seizures when I was in pain and with blood draws are caused by a lack of oxygen to my brain. They took me off all meds and I will be seeing a neuro surgen and a "I cant spell" to learn how to relax myself.it's weird because as soon as they took me off the meds I have the spells nightly again just like i did before i was put on the meds. It's ok though i feel so much more "with it" without the meds. Anybody here have a sleep disorder? If you do, do you happen to have a site that I can go to for some help? Thankyou all for all of your advice.

Congrats that it's not epilepsy. I hope you have good luck with the neurosurgery, and no pain soon!

The meds probably helped with the "spells" because of their sedative effect. Maybe you could try melatonin, which is supposed to help with sleep (without the side effects of e meds of course!).

Best,
Nakamova

Fantastic that you appear to have a permanent solution available to you. I wish you all the best with the surgery!

I know there are several forums out there centered on sleep apnea, but I'm not aware of any for sleep disorders in general (I never looked for one).

Sleep disorders website

This is an educational site devoted to improving sleep health worldwide. They have info, forums, a sleep specialist portal, sleep links. I think you should take a look at sleep.net...it could help your insomnia...I hope!
