So about a month ago i applied for a job as a baker's assistant.

Today was the closing date but as the guy said that he might close it earlier if there was enough applicants i thought i'd give him a call to see if the position had been filled.

He said that it had, BUT the woman he'd employed decided she no longer wanted to do it. When i asked would i be ok to apply again he said that he had planned on going through all the applications again and starting again, but then asked my name and what experience i had (i do a lot of baking and cooking at home and have done some baking for charity sale) and invited me for an informal interview tomorrow!

Oh i really hope i get this. It's 16 hours a week, mon-thurs 6am til 10am. It's an early start but also an early finish so i could get a nap in the afternoon. It's a small family owned bakery too, not like a huge corporate type one.

Wish me luck please!

Hi Loopy Lou,

Congratulations!! It is hard to get an interview in these hard economic times.

It sounds promising!! Let me know if you get the job, you have the experience.

Good luck, sending good interview vibes your way!

Thanks guys, i'll let you know how it goes. Don't think this job would do much for my weight though lol!

Mind you, i might get sick of the sight of cakes and pies and bread after a while :P

Remember Lou you have the luck of the Irish on your side,oh and good luck from me too!!!

Good luck Lou.
Sending positive vibes from Aussieland :)

Well, i just got back.

I think it went ok, he went through what the job entailed, what the hours were etc, showed me around and then i had a couple of questions too. It was fairly relaxed but i don't think i sold myself well at all.

So yeah, ok but not brilliant.

He said he has a couple more people to see, so i should find out soon. Getting nervous now :dontknow:

Hang in there, Loopy Lou. The interviewing process isn't finished yet. We're cheering for ya!

I didn't get it after all that :(

On the bright side another cv i sent out has been forwarded for a job! The way it normally works is you send it to the company's head office, they go through the applications and then forward suitable ones to the appropriate branch. This one is for a trainee pharmacy assistant, where i would get a mon-fri job and they also would pay for me to go to college to get my dispensing certificate.

This one would be a full time job but it would be regular hours so maybe i would cope ok with that.

i started as a regular till person then i did my medicines counter assistant course which is usually a 6 months course ... i then did my pharmacy dispensary assistant course which is also ususally a 6 month course ... and i had started to do my pharmacy technician course which is a 2 year course nvq equivilent to two A levels but im a bit behind with it all at the moment cuase ive just been off work for 8 months casue of my seizures and all ...

but im sure you will really enjoy it :) its a really rewarding job if you get it and the work is really interesting as well :)

.... iff you do get it, be sure to watch those stress levels ect :)

Yeah i know it can be fairly stressful. This is i think the third time i've applied to this company (cohens pharmacy) for a similar sort of job, i'm hoping this shows willing haha. I've been interested in pharmaceuticals for ages though, since i did vet science/animal management at college. Oh my god that was ten years ago i started college :O

Where has the time gone?!
