Hi all and thanks so much for the well wishes last week. UCH went okay. I have to tell you though, I hope I never have to do that again! It was a long week. I did have some magazines and a great book, but no one was able to come and visit, so the time kind of dragged.

I did have two different type of seizures. I had a stress seizure and an epileptic seizure. I had not heard of stress seizures before. It has all the hallmarks of an epileptic one, except your brain waves don't change. You have the movement and a high spike in blood pressure though.

At least I was able to perform :) Of course now I still have that damn glue in my hair, bruises on my arms and stomach. I didn't know that I was going to need shots of blood thinner, let alone in my tummy!

Everyone was nice though, so that was helpful. The nurse was so funny on Friday morning when the leads were removed. I swear, not 30 seconds went by and she was there with an arm load of towels. She said I bet you can't wait to get into that shower! She was right! Right after that I had my MRI. I have a follow up with her in July, so I will find out then what that had of any interest. She did change my medications around, so I am not driving this week while I make the adjustment.

Thanks again everyone :)

Hi husky,
Welcome back & it's good that you were able to perform for the specialist :).
I totally agree with you about the glue stuff from the EEG, getting that glue crap out of your hair is the worse part of an EEG lol.

Good luck with your med change, hope you don't have too many side effects.

I'm glad the experience was bearable. Hope you recover from your hospital stay quickly. Did you get to do any sight-seeing in Chicago? Or just what you could see out the hospital window...

What was the blood thinner for?

no extra sight seeing, the NATO conference was in the city and things were pretty much shut down. All I could see was into the ICU across the courtyard :) The blood thinner was to keep from forming clots because I wasn't able to move around.

"Stress seizure" sounds like another version of a psychogenic seizure. I think having injections in my stomach would be enough to give me a stress seizure...
