I hope I don't pay for doing too much this week.

Hi everyone. I hope you're all well, especially you Nakamova, you are so helpful yet mysterious about ur own life! :) Anyway, this week i've done loads of work on my assignments and relocated back to my usual home, renting with flatmates. Today i've walked &"trained" it to and from uni. I've been working on my anorexia assignment from 10am-8pm! I feel ok now but I have a big day tmrw too. I'm attending a study group to work on my stats assignment then two lectures on top of that. Did I mention I also have a drinks and dinner planned this sat night after more assignments? What do u guys do to prevent seizures when you're really busy?

No mystery in my life, just not very interesting (except for CWE of course)...

Wow, you have done a ton! I think just moving can be very stressful, but it sounds like you've been multi-tasking like crazy. One thing that can help is to schedule in 5-10 minutes of "meditation" several times a day. It doesn't have to be much -- just closing your eyes, lying down (if possible), focusing on your breathing -- but it helps if it can be consistent, so your brain and body can "count on it" to decompress. It's great if you can do it while you're feeling okay, before stress builds up to the breaking point...

Hey Wobblez!
I'm sooooo glad to hear that your life is returning back to a more recognizable state!
When I'm busy I try to make sure that I have a little bit of zen time each day to do nothing, just like Nakamova. Otherwise it really bites me in the tush later. I've been learning that I have to say no sometimes.
Once I got on meds and they helped a smidge I decided to return to work and my body revolted! So now my house is always a mess, but I only invite people in who don't care. Even this morning my mother-in-law offered to take me grocery shopping before work but I decided no to save up energy for work.
When I can't say no then really I cross my fingers and hope that adrenaline gets me through things! Perhaps you don't have to be the last person to leave during the dinner and drinks. Leave on a high note like on Seinfeld! I find that it's often when I'm winding down and relaxing after a hectic time that things hit me.
Take care of you, ok?

Hi guys. Yes I practise my 5 min meditation but i've slipped on that recently. So far so good! I submitted my literature review, all 17 pages of it! I could have dragged it out a bit longer but I have another assign due on tue plus one the following week so something had to give! LJ, drinks will be at home and I usually only have one or two so it won't be a big night. I am looking forward to a fun, relaxing night after all this study. Nakamova you're not boring, there must be something you can tell us about yourself? Hobbies? Other than the forum I mean :p

College was so long ago for me. I doubt I could generate a 17-word essay, let alone a 17-page one! That's impressive, and you definitely deserve a relaxing break. I may indulge in a margarita or two of my own this weekend -- with no real excuse, except that tomorrow is Cinco de Mayo. Ole!

My hobbies are pretty tame Wobblez, just a little of this (photography/book club/hiking/walking/swimming/bad tennis/jello wrestling) and a little of that (the occasional movie or band, counterespionage, dinner out with friends and family).* Every now and then, when finances allow, I do a bit of travel (when I win the lottery I'll come to Australia). Right now my activities are somewhat curtailed since I'm still rehabbing my shoulder from surgery a month ago.

*Some of these things are not true.

Hey Nak,

Are the things after the * the things that aren't true? lol.
So does that mean if you won the lottery you wouldn't come to Aussie :pfft:.

If I ever had the money I would love to come over to USA to meet a really good American friend. I've known my American friend for 13 years but only ever chatted with her on the net & telephone so it would be so cool to be able to meet her. Since I never buy lottery tickets I guess I can rule out winning the lottery :roflmao:.

No, I would really love to see Australia! And Tasmania too. And might as well throw in New Zealand while I'm there.

I never buy lottery tickets either. I figure my chances of winning are about the same either way. :)

That would be cool.
My American friend would also love to come here one day & meet me & my crazy family. I'm not sure what she'll eat though because she is a little bit of a fussy eater & doesn't like the sounds of some of the food we eat here :roflmao:

What is she afraid you'll be serving her? Fried koala? Sauteed cane toads?

Nah, nothing like that. Over the years me, my Mum & our friend have talked about the different foods we have. Our friend thinks some of our food is gross.
We once sent her a small jar of vegimite & she didn't like it lol.
I told her once about meat pies which are popular over here, often eaten at football games. She didn't like the sounds of that either lol.
There are other foods we eat that she didn't like the sounds of but I'll have to ask my friend what they were because I can't think of them right now.

I actually like vegimite on toast! Well, marmite. But I think they're pretty similar. It certainly is an acquired taste!

Yes Vegimite sure is an acquired taste lol.
I don't eat Vegimite any more but when I did used to have it I would only spread a tiny bit on my toast, bread.

Sorry Wobblez, it looks like I've accidentally hijacked your thread :pfft:

Hope you had a good night on Saturday & you have been getting plenty of rest in between uni & your assignments.

How did last night go Wobblez? Did you have a good time seizure free after a long week?

LOL it looks like my thread has indeed been hijacked but as it's for the sake of vegemite i'm all for it! Nakamova I love the "some of things are not true" you're hilarious!! You actually described my life fairly well in the first place!

Hi LJ, What day is it? I'm assuming you mean on Saturday night? I was okay but I think something happened. A friend and I drove to the local shops to get some alcohol (for him lol) and I couldn't remember where I was, I kept getting confused and I was sure I was on a totally different road. I've been going to those shops for about 12 years now!! This has happened before. He ended up going to a bonfire party with a few friends and I went to bed, I woke up feeling awful but i'm okay now.

I've been working like mad since on my other 3 assignments so I need to be careful. Off to do a statistics study group now actually now so gotta go! Hope everyone is well xxx

Yes, please do be careful. I know how it easy it can be to get wrapped up in work, at the expense of sleep and food just plain breathing.

Hi Nakamova.

How are you today?

I'm still working hard. I was at uni till 9pm last night and I'm back here today but I'm not being silly about it. I've taken a 1/4 tablet of Diazepam at night if I feel "off" before going to bed or I just can't stop reciting my assignments in my head! I'm also not setting my alarms in the morning so that I wake up naturally and get whatever sleep I need. THEN, I hit the assignments. So glad I'm no longer working part time too. I just couldn't do it all.

Don't worry, I'll never sacrifice eating for study though...I promise!!

Right, can't sit at this computer any more. I'm off to sit under a tree and have a break for a bit =)

Hi Wobblez,

I'm glad you're being careful. I especially applaud the "sit under a tree" break. I try and get out for a walk every day, otherwise I'll hunch for 9 hours in front of the computer drying my eyes out and developing "secretary spread."

In the olden days (she says, putting in her teeth and shaking her cane), my line of work (graphic design) involved a lot more physical activity: Wielding exacto knives, waxing typeset galleys, standing in front of paste-up boards trimming rubylith... None of this new-fangled computer stuff. Now, there's a real risk that I'll fuse with the keyboard unless I build in breaks throughout the day.

And now I'm off to my physical therapy session for my recovering shoulder. Yay! Sort of.
