I had a seizure today and I can't even make it 2 months seizure free.
My last seizure was 6-2. I won't feel sorry for myself that's not in me and there are just to many people worse off than me that have a lot more seizures than me. I was just laying on my couch and my seizure started, I had a partial seizure.I'd like to go just 6 months seizure free but I guess that's asking to much. I'll have to stick wit the 4 1/2 months that's the longest I've ever gone.:agree::e:

Sorry to hear it about it.

You have tried it all. What is the harm in giving a shot at coconut oil in addition to whatever drugs you are taking?

At least, you will have the satisfaction of having tried it all. Who knows you may even go on to break your longest record of seizure free days by a huge margin and perhaps even get a Drivers License.

I know what you mean Belinda5000.

I have on average about 7 seizures a month.

I might have one seizure then go about three weeks with out one. I'll be so excited that I think I'm going to make it a whole 4 weeks without a seizure then next thing I know I'll have about 4 or 5 in the next week.

I'm not saying I'm worse than you with the number of seizures - I just understand what your going through! :hugs:


And NO JAY I'm not trying coconut oil!!!!!!!
 
coconut oil where would I get something like that?
I'm give it a try actually i'll give anything a try.
 
I buy from Sams Club or Costco. Coconut oil becomes white solid if the temperature is below 75 and transparent liquid at temperatures higher than 75.

Sams Club has 56 oz jar of organic unrefined cold pressed coconut oil and it sells for around $14.99. In Costco, they sell one pack of two jars (44 oz in each jar) for $25

It will be available in other stores too but may be costlier. In Whole Foods, they have a 20 oz bottle and it costs $19.99

Sorry to hear this. If I recall this is your second seizure since starting Fycompa 2 mg. Is the plan for your doctor increase the dose of this? Tegretol and Topamax apparently both reduce the blood level and therefore effectiveness of Fycompa. I have no idea if this is what could be happening in your case, but might be worth asking your doctor about.
 
Sorry to hear about the seizure Belinda. My wife is going through something similar right now. She really wants to be able to drive again, but she can't manage to go 6 months without a seizure either. We do what we can.
 
Could the heat be causing the seizures? I know high humidity causes me to have seizures, among other things.
 
I had a seizure on Saturday the 18th, and it makes my 3rd seizure since starting Fycompa.
I know the reason for the increase is because I'm coming off the phenobarb right now.
 
Belinda -- You are a-ok in my book, 4-1/2 months or whatever. I am sorry it was not 6, but you are still A-OK!
 
A long many years ago, I had to get off of phenobarbital. It's a tough one to get off of it.

You have gone through many tough times Belinda and you will make it. Think Positive!!
