In the state of Washington you can sub contract a Dept of Licensing sub-agent from the state. Which means you can basically own and operate a business where you title and license vehicle, and vessels for an additional fee. It is not easy to obtain on of these, and they don't come up for bit often, but one did in my area in 1995, and I was lucky, and had enough experience to obtain one. I have done very well, until four years ago, when a mystery illness started making me so tired, and even then was able to struggle through by sheer will. I was finally diagnosed with E last October, and the real fun began with all the side effects, and being severely allergic to several of the medications. I am now on I think my 7th. I am having such a hard time concentrating, keeping on task, dealing with the noise around me (phones, customers talking ect), it seems to take me 10 times longer to get anything done than it used to. I feel like I am a brain damaged idiot. My main employee quit last week, as she decided it was just too stressful. Now my county office has contacted me, and told me that since I don't have a back up in case I get sick, and end up in the hopital, I will need to a) Hire someone immediately to run my office. B) shut my office down temporarily until I find somebody, and I get my medical situation stablized. C) Shut my office down permenently. I am so upset. I have put so much of myself into building this business, and worked so hard-so many hours. No because I get sick, I have to lose everything I have worked for. I don't even get the option to let my daughter have it. I know from reading what a lot of you post that finding a job is not easy with epilepsy, and disability payments don't go far. I don't know what to do. Things just seem to be going from bad to worse.:crying:
