I went to the Epileptologist yesterday and when discussing all that has gone on over the last 10 months I figured out something and the doctor agreed. I have had a few deja-vu experiences over the last 10 months and on one day I had 20 within 2hrs. On several days within that time I have had a muscle twitch in the abdominal area (mainly the left side).

I went to the dentist and during the novacaine injections I had 3 of those events occur. So I finally realized the those 2 different seizure events both have individual triggers. Lack of sleep for the deja-vu and stress for the muscle twitch . Neither are very frequent but it is good to know what to do when those are occurring what the issue is that needs to be addressed.

What a shame that I was using my :brain: as a paperweight because wow it was right in front of me the entire time. Does anyone else have anything else like that.

I have deja-vu right before I have a seizure.

I will stare into space. I can hear the person talking however I can not respond. I will smack my lips, have a funny taste.

I have NEVER connected the DDS. to anything, but how reading your post,
when I go to the DDS and get novacaine I feel like my body has turned to water, and that I'm coming out of the chair like a slow water fall.

I know this doesn't sound like what you are going through. I hope your seizures get better, that's a lot
.

to be comlepletely honest with you, and as unhelpful as this may be, i don't think my deju-vu is anyhere related to seizures, For my last 5 or 6 seizures (all tonic-clinc) I have a pretty vivid memory of them and at least 10 minutes before, and there was no instance of deja-vu or the other vu thing. Can't remember what it's called
However it is safe for them to say, though I have not had any traumatic effects post -deja-vu it is nice to know that some have seizures after this minor aura. Because when deja-vu does occur it COULD lead to a seizure and IO would like enough time to get ready.

when I have the dejua vu, I pull off the road, have the seizure, put my ligstick back on get on with where I'm going, at least that is how it is for me.

I have not had a seizure since march, when I was giving an antib.

It seems my triggers have changed over the years, it was and still happens when I don't get the sleep I need, and I have a schedule I stay on.

I used to take medic. over the counter, perscribed and that was that. Now I can't take much of anything.

This could because of age.

Boy, being this forum, it has made realize alot of things that I had just not put together.

I logging EVERTHING that I realize for my next appt.

jyearta the "I will stare into space. I can hear the person talking however I can not respond. I will smack my lips, have a funny taste. " is not a deja-vu. It is an aura and many people like you have those. Me if I am going to have a tonic-clonic I never have a warning.
Deja-vu is the feeling that everything is happening in that exact moment is exactly identical to a previous event down to the smallest detail of everything around you. The deja-vu is a seizure and thought of as a simple partial seizure. It is often associated the temporal lob epilepsy which is what I have.

The other vu thing is jamais-vu.

Knotting, I guess I didn't say it right or not understanding.

When I jeja-va (whatever) I do have the feeling that I been at this exact place, w/ same person( store whatever the situation is) having (or was having the same conservation) even if is some place I have never been.

Its is like you said above, that all somes 1st. then immediately after I have a seizure.

I do have temporal lobe E.

You are the first person I have talked to that (as far as I remember) that has the deja-vu then the bigger seizure. I had only read about that. At least you get a warning.

i wish my auras were more plegthy and pleasant even. a head cock, thrown into a blendor, pain and down for the count, then i wake up a few minutes later. fun fun

Does anyone else have anything else like that.

it's hard for me to tell although with recent issues I have been paying a lot more attention to trying to identify my auras. which for me gets annoying at times now.
I'm an artist and musician who has always (as far as I can remember) had times of 'reverie' that I would float along and find a lot of sortof synesthetic inspiration - and now I'm supposed to screech these times to a halt and try to assess and define.
very annoying, frankly
either that or I will tend to panic myself into a different mindset because I try to think in terms of seizure preparedness or some BS like that.
it's annoying, and can tend to trigger headaches more than anything.
maybe headaches are part of my seizures.
who knows
I'm finding it hard to give a s*** about much at all anymore.
nothing is the same

I have to remind myself O F T E N- that I am blessed to have these warnings.

I didn't know about the differ. seizures, until this forum. And what some of you go through, I can't wrap my mind around.

I try to get to somewhere before the seizure, it comes SOON after.

Afterwards I've tried to just go on my way. But here lately it is the fear that I am dealing with.

waking up in incredible pain and not remembering a thing is not very good for the psyche is it

Nope. My typically post-seizure activity consists of (caution) trying for about 5 mins to get up, walking around wobbly legged in circles, taking a whiz out of the first window I see, grabbing a drink, then going back to sleep. All this without knowing what happened that day, not knowing my name, birthday, etc...

I'm sorry to hear had bad your seizures are.

I have problems sleeping, where as (it sounds like) you have NO choice but to sleep.

I hope this gets better for you.
