Hello,

I've reading these forums and this is the first Time I've found something that resembles anything like what I'm experiencing. ThiS is a post from someone a few years ago which sums it up in terms of symptoms.

"I'm sure everyone's familiar with the feeling you get when you wake up from a dream. For a few moments after waking, we feel we can remember the dream, but this memory rapidly fades away. Even whilst desperately trying to remember aspects of the dream, we feel the memory just melting away, and despite our best efforts, it's gone in just a minute or two.

In my 'attack, disconnected from the world. I am still awake and able to respond, though might seem distracted. I still know where I am, but my surroundings seem unfamiliar"

It's a weird feeling but nothing crippling - unfortunately it often comes with an episode of ictal asystole - my heart stops. Obviously I lose consciousness then which is quite scary. I've been on a few meds st this point with awful side effects and have settled now on one where I feel human! After a few months it seems to have stopped working as well and I've had more and more frequent episodes (without LOC tho). Apparently these are more than likely where I'm having ictal bradycardia but my heart is and actually stopping.

Does anyone have any experience with ictal asystole or bradycardia ? Apparently it's quite a rare diagnosis and I can find very little on the Internet about it other than medical articles.

Sorry for horribly long post!! Would love to hear from anyone who knows anything about this.

Thanks!

Hey Scotscot, welcome to CWE!

Have you been seeing a cardiologist in addition to a neurologist? Perhaps your bradycardia is causing a decrease in oxygen, which might in turn be triggering your seizure episodes.
