I'm on keppra 1000mg a day for epilepsy and I'm currently in month two out of six with a suspended license. I was diagnosed after having two tonic-clonic seizures. Now last week I had a partial seizure, and I will bring it up to my neurologist when I check up with him in a few weeks. But if he decides to up my medication would my 6 month suspension start over again, or do I need to have another tonic clonic for that to happen?
If I change up my medication, do I lose my license again?

I BELIEVE technically, you would have to have a TC, but when I asked to stop my meds, my doctor told me he would "prefer me to stop driving". It may be the same if you are going to change meds.
I was stupid and stopped. In the end, after having a TC in my sleep, I had to stop driving for another six months.

It really depends on the state you live in. We're kind of in the same boat as you - my daughter is 15, turning 16 in April. She had 3 t/c seizures in September, and then none until 2 simple-partials 3 weeks ago (the day after her first period in 5 months). If she has another the doctor wants to up her meds. We're in a mandatory reporting state (PA), so I'm not sure what the doctor is going to do regarding her getting her learner's permit in April. I'm not sure if a simple-partial "counts" against her or not. I guess we'll find out at our next appt. in March. Her neurologist has told us he is very conservative about driving, so I'm braced for bad news.

Wouldn't it not matter what type of seizure one has, or any other aspect of our health situation; once we have a seizure, isn't our drivers license suspended at that point for a period of time? Me, I have been in Iowa, Texas, California (USA), and Saskatchewan (Canada)... that is the case in each of these locations to the point if one does not report the seizure, they may well have their license not merely suspended, but revoked. I assumed that was the case everywhere, just differences in the suspension period after the seizure.

In Missouri, I have never had my license suspended. I just have to follow doctors orders. If I don't I am liable for anything that may happen.
As for the types of seizures, I think it gets goofy. Is it a "simple partial" or an "aura". My doctor calls them "auras" and he doesn't tell me not to drive. Any partial complex or TC, he will.

N Sperlo, hmmm... interesting. Next time my doctor, or neurologist talks about suspending my license; I am going to talk with them more in depth. 
onder: This round I will certainly let it go as I am down to one month until they say yea or nay on giving me my license back.
