Hi everyone! I have thought about this site several times, and I've wondered about a few people and decided I needed to come by and say hello.

I'm surviving. The past year and a half has been very, very difficult for our family. We lost 4 family members within 11 months. I've had several surgeries, been admitted to the hospital 4-5 times, and been to the ER about 5 times also. Some of these hospital trips were for epilepsy, but most were for my auto-immune issues. I'm praying for a better 2012!

On a happier note,
It's the holidays, and I'm super excited!!! :) I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season, whatever your beliefs, and that you all enjoy your time with friends and family.

Take care! :e:

well welcome back & happy holidays to you too !hopefully 2012 will be a better year for you & your family !

Good to see you back Seizures4ever.

Sorry to read that 2011 has been a bit of a rough year for you & your family, hope 2012 is a much better year for you all :)

Welcome back! May your 2012 be filled with peace and joy.

Hi S4E -
Glad you stopped by. Sorry to hear about your rough year.
Here's hoping that you 2012 is better.

Welcome back seizures4ever.

So sorry things have been so rough. I really do hope they pick up for you. The people here are still great.

Do be careful & double check everything the enzyme site says. just quickly looking I saw 1 thing that definitely is not true. There might be more.

They claim that enzymes stop inflammation.
Enzymes are very effective at building up the immune system while at the same time decreasing inflammation

That is not true according to Wikipedia.
On its own, COX enzyme synthesizes prostaglandins, creating inflammation.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anti-inflammatory

They've even found that anti-inflammatory drugs can work by inhibiting enzymes.

“The inhibition of CERK (the enzyme ceramide kinase) would have the added benefit of shutting down the entire inflammatory pathway possibly alleviating side-effects caused by the medications such as Vioxx, which was recently withdrawn from the pharmaceutical market.”
