Hey,
my name is Krista and I've had seizures since I was about 15. I'm 24 now. My most recent seizure was about a week ago. Since then, a series of stuff has happened, my neurologist has decided to take me off topamax and switch me to keppra because of the side effects topamax was giving me, and also up my dosage, as I was taking a very small dosage of topamax( 150mg) and now will be taking 500mg of keppra. it's all different changes for me and i'm just looking for somewhere where people go through similar things...

thanks.

Hi Krista, welcome. I am relatively new here and returning to the site. The people here have been absolutely wonderful. You are in a great place. I hope you will have great success with Keppra.

Hi Krista, welcome to CWE!

I hope the Keppra helps -- feel free to post any questions you have as you make the transition from the Topomax. Everyone reacts differently to medication, but one thing that many folks experience on Keppra is "Kepprage" -- moodiness and crankiness. I hope that doesn't happen for you, but if it does, taking a B6 vitamin supplement can help.

Best,
Nakamova

Thanks guys! I hope that doesn't happen cause that's why I'm trying to get off the topamax! Lol. I appreciate your comments!
