Hello, my name is Melissa, I'm 24 years old and I've lived with epilepsy since I was 18 months old. I've been through many tests and many diagnoses. I am on Tegretol and Keppra. I just started Keppra about 2 yrs ago. I take Tegretol for about 2-3 years and for some reason I build up some sort of immunity to it and have to switch to something else for 6 months to a year. I am now starting to think about what all would go into having a baby with me having seizures and try and get prepared before trying. I would love any advice or just a simple hello from someone else who has had seizures before. I've only met one other person in my life that has seizures.:e:

Hi Lissa --

Welcome to CWE! You're in the right place -- this is a great community of folks with a wide variety of experiences with seizure disorders. Some have had epilepsy since birth. Some, like me, developed it later in life. We've all developed -- or are working on developing -- good coping strategies for dealing with epilepsy and the ripples it's made in our lives.

Feel free to wander around and check out the different forums here. There are places for every mood -- forums to chat in, ask questions, vent, be silly...

Best,
Nakamova
