Aside from being on the computer :punch:, what do you do in your spare time?

I do crossword puzzles and other word games, read and crochet.

If anyone knows of a good website that has easy to follow crochet patterens for things other than blankets let me know, I'd really appericate it.

I spend spare time (what little I get!) with my wife & kids - after the last bad do re brain injury I treat my spare time as my most precious commodity & when well enough use it accordingly

I spend my spare time reading, playing Scrabble, & I'm active in community theater. Just a few things to keep the cobwebs at bay in my lovely brain. And, when relatives are in town, I spend my spare time re-learning the games I played as a child, with a twist, of course!

I spend my spare time recovering from work!

Well, i read a lot (anything and everything), i like playing my ps3, and lately i've been trying to get out of the house more, whether its meeting up with friends, doing the shopping or going to the gym.

Hopefully things will be changing at work soon so i will have more free time.

One of the neuropsychologists suggested that I do the things that are the hardest for me, to retrain my brain. So... in my spare time I write in here. And I read short stories. I also research things related to our seizure disorder. It helps my attitude and acceptance to understand what's going on with my body, and it stretches my brain.

I also take my dog to the dog park to run and play. We both love it.

In my spare time ...

As work role involves looking @ numbers & thinking on my feet it's operant that spare time is devoted to certain amount of physical fitness so still enjoy amount of karate, riding & screaming like the Banshee @ rugby & football!

How the h#ll d'ya manage a PS3, "LL" - My degree is in Applied Economics & Public Finance & I watch my son on his PS3 absolutely nonplussed!! - Respect my Friend!
(ps while you're @ the shops, get me a hunk of Stilton, willya?!!!)

I like reading, especially novels, learning to play cello, yoga, cooking, and internet gin. Anyone have any novels to recommend?

I take photos, write (I want to write a book), listen to music, hang out with friends and do some reading.

In my spare time...

I like to solve the Rubik's Cube type puzzles (e.g. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/V-Cube_7)

I have written to fermilab and had an interesting response: http://www.fnal.gov/pub/inquiring/questions/blueberry.html

I also like Art, Technical Drawing, Computer Aided Design, Scratch Built Model making (not kits - I do like kits but prefer to invent my own models), Cosmology, Particle Physics, electronics, Reading (Here is an example of a book that I have read: http://books.google.co.uk/books?id=...&resnum=1&ved=0CCkQ6AEwAA#v=onepage&q&f=false), Researching vitamins (as B vitamins (mainly vitamin B6) are all I use to control my RARE, atypical Pyridoxine Dependent Seizures),... etc.

In my Spare time

In my spare time, I like to spend it with my family, photography play, run and dabble in web design. Family and running are most enjoyed time as the other two are just what I get to do occassionally.

Well, i'm a gamer lol. I also take a slight pride that i'm better than my brothers, though they wouldn't like to admit it :P A hunk of stilton eh? I make a reeeaaallly good stilton and broccoli soup apparently :ponder:

Marion - i'd reccomend Lesley Pearse and Juliet Marillier :D Or if you fancy a giggle along with some mind boggling logic, Terry Pratchett *nod*

Can you stick some of your soup in the post for me "LL"? - Surely our wonderful Royal Mail would oblige?

The stilton was fine & polished off "PDQ" - but it wasn't as stinky & sharp as some of those we get in Germany. There's a wonderful one called Limburger - Just think of Brian O'Driscoll's old rugby socks!!

LOLOL....Limburger

brings back a HILARIOUS memory.

Hubby's ex-employees at an old job (about 20 years ago) decided he needed to have a practical joke puled on him. He'd made them mad about something--I forget what--so they put a HUGE hunk of Limburger in his little compact car during a hot summer day (end of August).

That car REEKED FOR MONTHS. I refused to get into it for over a year.

You have to sign up, but it's free and they have great patterns. I like to do that kind of stuff, too! Crosswords, scrabble, crochet, reading, yoga, etc.

in my free time, I have seizures.

No I am kidding.
I ride my bike and take pictures.
surf the internet.

Design and build things

In my free time I sleep. Or take hot baths by candlelight with my mp3 player and just meditate. Occassionaly I dig out a toy or 2 :embarrassed: , or kick back with a beer or joint and unwind. Retail therapy can be nice as well if I don't go overboard.

I realize some of those things I shouldn't do with epilepsy/seizure meds, but hey, I never claimed to be super responsible and ya only live once. If I drown in a bubble bath everyone that knows me knows I died a happy camper. :p

(don't try this at home, lol)
