Has anyone been taking Lamictal and pharmacists' or doctors have recommended taking the generic brand lamotrigine? I had done that but after a certain amount of time I noticed that the generic brand stopped working. I want to know if it was just me or if most generic brands of medication have this problem after taking it for a long period of time.

Thanks Everyone!

Hey, Screamy,

What's a long time? Sometimes drugs quit working after awhile whether they are lamictal or not, generic or not. Sometimes the dosage just needs to be raised because your body is building up a tolerance.

I'm on generic Lamictal, have been for about a couple of years now (I think?). It's been pretty steady for me, except sometimes when my pharmacy changed generic suppliers. The dosage is raised high enough now so that no longer affects me.

I was switched 2 years ago to the generic of Lamictal (for health insurance reasons). I haven't had any problems so far.

alrighty thanks friends! Doc says I am at my limit, so i'll talk to him later!
