I know there are some high fat diets that people with E have tried, though I haven't myself.
I wonder what the long term effects are on the rest of the body? High cholesterol is very hard on the heart and arteries, especially over time.

Yes, it is for this reason that the ketogenic diet is usually only recommended for children, and for as few years as possible. For both adults and children, less restrictive low carb/high fat diets can still help -- the Modified Atkins has been shown to be successful in helping to control seizures. Before making any major dietary changes check in with your doctor and/or a registered dietician.
