I had a grand mal seizure in school on Tuesday, 4 days ago. I might have epilepsy but won't have it confirmed until next weekend. Anyway, I should of said something to my neurologist yesterday but I just haven't felt completely right since. I've been tired feeling and a little light headed. I don't know if this is normal to feel strange or if there's something wrong?

Yup, it

is perfectly normal.

I would say something to the doc tho, he can give you anti-nausea meds to help with that if you really need them.

I'm usually out of it (asleep for 18 to 24 hours to start) for nearly a week. Can't speak properly, and as for knowing my alphabet or the like, don't even ask me to have a clue. I won't

Light-headed, yup. Can I eat? No. Worn out? Yup. Sore, as if every muscle's been ripped (in my case) OH YES.

Keep a journal of how you're feeling. Show it to the doc so he can have a clue what's going on. And you as well. You can better learn to help yourself using a journal.

Sometimes things as simple as a change of diet or exercise helps those of us with E. But, typically, it takes 2 seizures to be diagnosed with it, but see what your doc says. If you've had an EEG, and there was epileptic type activity shown in your brain, then it's possible to be diagnosed.

By the way, I have not welcomed you to CWE......Mr. B has set CWE up as a dinner party, so there are lots of guests here. Grab a drink, and make yourself at home. Ask someone else for the coffee though, as I burn every batch that I make. :P

Cheers!

The worst part about my case I gotta say though is that I won't have all the results til next month and until then I have to live with the risk of having another seizure in school. Even though people are good about it you can probably imagine why it's awful having one in school. The worst part is they have to take me out by ambulance and bring me to the ER even though all I need is a few hours of rest after...

Help!

I feel exactly the same and I am worried but I do not have grand-mal seizures. I had several complex partial seizures (5 since 19/20/13) and I woke up dizzy yesterday and today and I mean DIZZY takes me ages to get up.

I am on Tegretol 400mg twice a day and Lamotrigine 100mg twice a day. Also I am on Depo-Provera (birth control) which I was put on to control my seizures that are caused by hormone changes. So these were probably not hormonal seizures.

My blood pressure is lower than usual 100/60 normally it is 120/90

This has never happened before!

Anyone know anything?

I think that after a grand-mal its normal to feel dizzy as my mum has them and she use to take ages to feel normal.

Blood pressure can vary quite a bit in a short amount of time — it can change depending on the position of your body, your breathing, stress levels, physical condition, medications you take, what you've been eating and drinking, and the time of day. BP is usually lowest at night and then it goes up sharply when you wake up.

After I've had a grand mal seizure, I haven't felt dizzy, just tired and thick-headed. Lamictal has made me dizzy at times, but not so much that I couldn't get up.
100/60 still falls into the "normal" range, but if it continues to be low for you and you are dizzy all the time you should get checked out. If it's a one-time thing, it could be due to dehydration or low blood sugar. It can also be a sign of thyroid problems.
