Is Tegretol ever switched out with Trileptal

Seems like everybody reacts differently to meds. I was on tegretol for years (around 15 I guess) and dr. switched me to trileptal. The switch for me was easy. I didn't have to ramp down on one and up on the other, just switched.

He switched me because my white blood count was always goofy, it would go down a lot and then back up, and I couldn't get over a simple cold for a long time. On the tegretol that white blood count thing isn't supposed to happen. I get over colds and flu just like a normal person does now. So far my sodium levels are ok.

However, that being said, I do think I've got more fatigue and depression on trileptal than I did on the tegretol. Oh, and it's way more expensive. Good luck!
