Which I can kind of understand being as its been a long time since I last ate it BUT I never liked grilled cheese in the first place.

Yesterday I had a dream where I was in a restaurant that was somehow destroyed and all the customers had to go on a cruise ship instead. The ship offered us all the things I shouldn't eat - cakes, pies, cookies, fruit etc. I was grabbing everything and savoring how delicious the overlly stale cake was.

I've been craving grilled cheese since that dream and I don't even recall their being grilled cheese in it. When I woke up I was really groggy and out of it - I possibly had a nocturnal seizure. So I'm sitting there thinking "It isn't safe for me to cook, and I might do something wrong if I used the microwave. Hmmm, why don't I drive to the grocery store and buy what I need to make grilled cheese." Because of course, its a great idea to drive to the grocery store on a suspended license when you don't trust yourself to open a can of soup and heat it up in the microwave (don't worry, I didn't drive)

I'm so tempted to cheat and go have a grilled cheese sandwich. But the main reason I don't is quite simple - I don't like grilled cheese sandwiches. I'm not craving anything else. Its like my minds telling me "EAT GRILLED CHEESE OR STARVE Muhahaha"

Sounds like you need to invest in one of those sandwich presses....you know, the ones that look like a waffle maker. Just put in the bread and cheese, put down the lid, and wait till the sandwich is done. :)

Grilled cheese sandwhich = carbs and cocaine* for the brain

* = Gluten and Casein Peptides:

The peptides from gluten and casein are important because the react with opiate receptors in the brain, thus mimicking the effects of opiate drugs like heroin and morphine. These compounds have been shown to react with areas of the brain such as the temporal lobes, which are involved in speech and auditory integration.

can you have eggs with cheese? thats what im eating right now lol im gross though i mixed salmon with it all lol

Thats odd, I always crave a grilled cheese sandwich with a fried egg. The biggest thing I crave though anymore is salt ever since I went on Keppra. The doctors said it would deplete my body of sodium and so if my body craves it then they said I am needing it.

I like to analyze dreams. Sometimes, there's a hidden meaning behind the things in your dream. I've heard that your mind goes through the prior day's events sequentially. The last thing you think about is the first thing you think about in the morning.

Maybe there's something you don't like (like epilepsy) that stays around, gets hot (a seizure) and stretches out (like cheese) for extended periods of time (had it too long!) which gets old fast (stale cake - you miss the 'treat' of driving).

But, I personally love cheese. I don't usually add bread to it, though.

Just a guess. It could just be something else that you did that day as well. It could simply be a nutritional deprivation as you mentioned. Your body can crave foods that fill in gaps in nutrition or body chemistry. I know that some epilepsy drugs cause a depletion in calcium leading to osteoporosis.

:ponder:

This is a new one to me. I did a quick search and didn't find anything on it. Any info you can share would be interesting as I have been on Keppra for 5+ years.

I may be wrong, it may be the Trileptol, I can't remember which one it is that causes which side effects anymore

That is really weird ... because I'm allergic to peanuts
and peanut butter and I've been having craving for
peanuts / peanut butter for months (and it does drive
me batty!) ~ and yet, I have sufficient amount of protein
and others et. al.

Have any explanations Bernard for that one? I've done
research and come to a point blank!

I don't know. Maybe you are craving the salt or fats found in roasted peanuts/peanut butter?
