Hi!

My thoughts and prayers go out to the people of Japan whom have been affected by the devastating earthquake and tsunami. I was quite surprised that no one had posted anything on this earthquake!!! Seeing something like the earthquake and reading about it really puts to home how really precious
life really is!!!

When I first heard of the news of the earthquake in Japan I was filled with horror, fright, fear and concern for my sister, my brother-in-law and his family. After reading an article on the earthquake I did check with my atlas and was thanful that it looked like they were all okay. I then checked my emails and saw that my sister had emailed me telling me that they were all okay In fact, my sister and my brother-in-law didn't even know about it until my brother-in-law's brother phoned them up asking with they were okay!!! I was and still am filled with great hapiness and relief knowing that they all are okay!!!

I am really hoping that the world doesn't have any more devastating earthquakes any time soon, as there has been the Japanese one, another in China and the one in New Zealand only a few weeks ago - think it has had enough for the moment!!! Hoping that there isn't any other natuaral disasters of any kind for a while, either. The world really needs to go through a period where it is totally free from any such disasters. It needs to be and go though a very calm period where it is at least natural disaster-free.

Yes, there

are many prayers and positive thoughts going out right now. Let's just hope another one doesn't hit soon......

Personally I'd encourage everyone to donate to the Red Cross so that they can help as much as possible.

and don't forget within the past year Haiti and Chile. Haiti is still devastated and recovering. In Japan, they were earthquake educated and the buildings were better built to sustain earthquakes, but not tsunami ready.

This Community Involvement Site has a great list of organizations that are offering support to victims of the Japanese disaster including Save the Children, Children in Emergency Fund, Net Hope, Red Cross & others.

It also has links to sites that will keep us all updated with news, photos & vids as to the current state of this horrible disaster.

Getting involved by contributing (money, time or energy) is the best way to give assistance.

My thoughts and prayers and are with all those who are suffering from the many natural disasters our world has had to endure recently, especially in Japan right now where nuclear disaster is now immenent after everything else.

I agree that donations and prayers are our best way of assisting at the moment, and certainly does bring into perspective just how small my problems are!

Hi Cint!

Very good points, Clint! Thanks for reminding me!!! Really hoping that Haiti is soon recovered from the devastating earthquake it had there, last year!!! Hoping Chile has recovered from its earthquake of last year - and if it isn't hoping it soon is!!!

And yes, very true that the Japanese are very highly educated on earthquakes and have many buildings built to withstand earthquakes!!! I'm very sure that the Japanese are finding ways/soon will find a way to make tsunami-ready buildings too. I'm sure if it can be done the Japanese will do it!!!

And its not only just earthquakes - but all other natural disasters too - floods, such as the huge one in Australia, only a month or so ago and few other countries too, hurricanes and torrinados, any other type of extremely severe weather/storms, famines and and any other type of natural disasters!!! I really am hoping that they can all stop happening and for a very long time be totally free from any type of natural disaster at all!!! The world really needs it - as there has been so many natural disasters recently and the world needs time to recover!!!
